Anyone Else loving Seeing Lane Getting His Arse Kicked?

I would call it self absorbed, disrespectful and arrogant, but I'll take lost too mainly cause he just got his a$$ handed to him.

Wearing a hoodie is disrespectful and arrogant? If you think he's lacking in character because of how he left UT, or some of the events that took place in El Paso this week, or various other things, I can understand that. But to say he's lacking in character because of his gameday attire is pure lunacy.

Lane beat South Carolina, Georgia, almost knocked off Bama and barely lost to UF. Lane is a good coach, but hes also a jackass.

Yep. Plus he's one hell of a recruiter. He'll have to put those skills to use in the coming years, because with only 15 scholarships per year to hand out, they can't hardly afford to miss on anybody.

I only hope that recruits thinking of USC and Kiffin look at the talent they had today on the field today and the fact that Kiffin and his staff couldn't even get them ready to give the Yellow Jackets a good game. This bowl win made my day. Good luck Ramsey! lol...

Finally, an issue ALL vol fans can agree on! Maybe we just turned the corner and the "Hambone Curse" is lifted. If true, THANK YOU USC for taking Kiffy! GBO! Next best thing to a bowl victory.

Nonsense, what it is is an opinion just like those you have. But, you obviously are the final arbiter of what is acceptable.....get real.

Do you make a habit of judging people's character based on the clothes they have on? Is a certain type of attire an indicator of whether or not a person knows right from wrong?

Like I said, if you think he's lacking in character because of a myriad of reasons including the way he left UT, I can understand that. Calling out a person's character because of the type of clothes they wear is ridiculous.

Hard to blame a guy for staying at a job for more money than we were willing to pay.

Depends on how long they keep the Kiffin staff - I would guess - maybe he would stick with the new coaching staff - he is a good guy so I would think so. UT should have upped the ante for him - I mean damn they gave a complete clown like Sunseri 900k

But he can't coach 4 and 5 star talent at SC. Guess he is a better SEC coach than PAC whatever coach. Pre season #1. What a joke. I feel bad for SC fans.

I've hated the guy since the whole "We teach our players to keep their helmets on," douchebaggery. I hope he gets destroyed in every game.

Al Davis made sure Kiffin will never be a HC in the NFL before his head got cold. Lots of Coaches looking for HC positions particularly after the onslaught of coaches fired today. Wouldn't surprise me if USC put some feelers out. But I believe Kiffin will get a reprieve to see if there is an improvement next season. If not his azz is toast.

They gave Sunseri that money to be a defensive coordinator. Even matching what Tee is getting at USC would have put him head and shoulders above the rest of the position coaches. They would have either had to bump all of their pay up, or deal with one guy getting 100k per year more than the rest. I don't know if either of those would have been a great idea.

Easy boy! It's New Year's Eve AND Kiffy just got his a$$ handed to him. Enjoy the day and the moment.

His players tweeted about how they were too good to play in that bowl. They didn't want to be there.

Ga Techs answer was to beat the MF'n crap out of them.

Nope. Not bothering to take your sunglasses off when shaking hands with the coach that just beat you is what I would call disrespectful and arrogant. Maybe I was raised differently than you but I want to see a man's eyes and I want him to see mine. To each their own though man.

I can agree with that. Maybe you should have been a little clearer though. I certainly didn't see anything about the handshake in your first post. I just read it as him simply wearing what he wore during the game was "disrespectful and arrogant." My apologies. :hi:

Not the same thing at all. Today was actually a terrible loss. The VT game 3 years ago was a 7-5 team getting worked over by a top 15 team. Only the most delusional people think UT should have won that game.

while everyone wants to comment on how bad of a loss this was for USC...Tech's biggest issue this year was their defense....their offense generated plenty of points and even a little more balance with a passing scheme that involved more than running go routes with big recievers (one of which is the best in the league right now...another Payton is throwing to out in Denver). DC was fired and after a few games and some practice time, today a better scheme was devised and executed against a team that has way more talent....more 3, 4 and 5 stars than Tech.

Dont' get caught up in the record or the piss poor perfomance against MTSU or GA.

GO Jackets!!!!!!

I feel the love! I was correct, the Hammy Curse" is over. John Adams is this very minute writing an article titled "Vols United in 2013." We'll maybe I won't go that far ... John Adams ...

Not really apologizing for anything. They had a disastrous season. Not really any other way to spin it. I just think all the anger at this guy is pathetic so long after the fact, especially if he left and hasn't even had a lot of success at an easier job.

To your second point, I have just about lost any hope for UT being competitive until they get an administration in place that is committed to fielding a winning football team. As of today that is not currently the situation. Until then I feel like we'll continue to toil away in mediocrity.

OK, I will speak for myself. Most of my resentment revolves around RESPECT. He has showed NONE on multiple occasions for the opportunity GIVEN (not earned) here. He did NOT appreciate it they way us die hards do. So the thread started revolving around enjoying Kiffin's USC getting it handed to them. Of course I did. I am not a perfect person. This is why most do.

You my friend seem to have lost not only hope but PRIDE.

Your points of what outlook is better USC's or UT's has some good points to it. I agree and believe it is an "easier job" at USC than UT. That's why I respect SEC school more than any other PAC 12, BIG 10, or ACC when they can win it because it is harder to do.

So what I am saying is I don't respect taking a seemingly easier job. It is in the same ilk of dunking out of UNC game. I hated it while most said well it is a definite loss so it is smart. I think it is chickens!$# and not championship attitude. Now we get to hear in the media all off season "will UT back out on Oregon".

So he took off for a cushier situation after just one year. He had the right to. UT made a deal with the devil and got burned. I just have no respect for him and I have that right too (as despicable that seems to you).
Praying for your Orange to be restored (sincerely:)
