Anyone else think that LSU will be even more dangerous next year?

They have a new OC, a new and fairly proven quarterback, and a great recruiting class coming in. I'd give them a good chance to win the West next year.

I'd agree with your assessment. However, with the Mad Hatter at the helm, they'll screw up a game or 2.

I'm not sure an OC can come in and run a freak show unless they have ridiculous talent. They always could, I guess, but I think the safe bet is nay...IMO

Hiring Steve Kragthorpe will not be a reason they win the West. They may, but they'll win despite him.

They had a goober running their offense this year and still competed. They will be much better offensively in the coming years.

Curious, what about Kragthorpe makes you believe:

A) He is not a goober

B) He's any better than Crowton.

He's taken an offense to a big 12 championship. What has Crowton done when coaching in any form for a big time football team?

And Oregon went 10-1 with Crowton, with the only loss being USC, in the 2005 regular season.

How about in '06? With some of the most athletic and talented offensive players in the Pac-10. That 8 points they scored against BYU in the bowl game was outstanding.

You do realize that I'm not defending Crowton, right?

I posit that Kragthorpe is, if any, marginally better.

And Crowton ran a good BYU program right into the ground as head coach.

Once again, I know Crowton is horrible, and doesn't deserve to be an OC anywhere. So, giving me instances of how bad he is....pointless.

LSU has ridiculous talent all over the field.

This and it starts with the kid under center. I was impressed. Some said he played a little "streetball" against us and tried to get his. My argument to that was and still is, we shoulda stopped him.

They're good, and they whipped us. Plain and simple.

I think LSU has to be considered for at least contending in the west with Alabama next season. Their offense will be more structured next year vs what they had this past season.

If you put a person with halfway decent schemes as offensive coordinator at a school that can pull whatever talent they want, like Florida/LSU/Texas, then the talent can carry you to wins.

They have as good a chance as anyone in the West.....they'll lose a game they shouldnt though
