I don't mean to be a Scrooge but damn...every time I turn around the wife's got something else for me to do. Buying gifts for people I'm not sure I've actually met, writing 100 Christmas cards because "her handwriting sucks", buying all new Christmas decor, "OH CRAP, I NEED SNOW FOR MY CHRISTMAS VILLAGE!! RUN BACK OUT AND GET THAT FOR ME!!", going over to (her) families get togethers...I mean it just never stops. Anyone else's head about to explode with all of the holiday madness?

I'm so ready for this bowl game...I need a vacation.

Yes. My job is at its busiest this time of year. Long hours, 6 days a week. Dec 26th favorite day of the year.

I'll be tired of the commercialized version of Christmas by 6pm tomorrow evening. The true Christian Religious meaning of Christmas,I'll never be tired of.

You should have turkey for your Christmas dinner. Wild Turkey. Over ice.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. The shopping and stress dampens my festive spirit over the holidays

I think the first step of your boycott is to send me the pistol you bought your brother

Nope. My favorite time of year. Good drinks, good food, giving presents to my daughter and spending time with friends and family

The fake Holiday which i hate is Valentines day. It's just for the most part an excuse to buy candy, cards and flowers.

Cherish every moment you youngans, with your youngans. They grow up fast and memories fade.

Have a joyful merry Christmas!

It also doesn't help that it's 70 degrees and monsooning here in SC. Doesn't quite feel like Christmas.

Lost my grandfather on Dec 28th last year. He was in the hospital with pneumonia in Christmas. We always went down to their house as a family and had christmas eve and ate and opened gifts. Now that hes gone its just really sad.

I know there's a lot of people on VN around my age (25). If you are spending Christmas with your grandparents please cherish it. You simply don't know if they will be there next year and it will never be the same without them.

Life comes full circle. I am 34 and haven't had a grandparent for over 10 years. I now have 3 kids and parents who are aging (like us all). Your last sentence is so true, but as you get older, it also becomes true about parents and siblings. For me, while this time of year is busy and we can complain about things, it is always fun to be with my whole family and watch my kids light up with joy. Simple things. I want to create memories for them just like my parents did for me. Life will move on, and they will eventually be in our position. I love being out of the office and spending time at home. Enjoy the season.
