There's no way they'd tell him won't be back unless they plan on firing him this weekend. "Hey, your done, but keep recruiting and coaching for a couple months thanks!"
If the players and staff know. What would be the reason to delay an announcement? I'm sure we'll hear within 48 hours. If he's already been fired, and he wins out, then you announce, it looks bad.
He knows it will be a different world with Gruden in charge. Plus he must really like a$$ beatings every week.
Who says the players know? It would be in their interest to keep silent till seasons end. It could affect how they play out.
