Wow, the loaded question. Here is our projected lineup
C- Van Meetren (So.)
1B- Jones (Fr.)
2B- McCallister (Jr. Juco transfer)
3B- Armstrong (Fr.)
SS- White (So.)
LF- Swanner (So.)
CF- Shannon (Sr.)
RF- Bayardi (Sr.)
Fri- Fedde (So.)
Sat- Borden (So.)
Sat- Richy (So.)
Sun- Oakley (Fr.)

Swanner should be our table setter at the top of the lineup and Shannon and Bayardi will supple the power.

Fedde is a returning freshmen all-american and should anchor our pitching staff.

The best question is should this be a competitive series??

IMO anything less than 3-1 is a very bad sign for the vols

Well, I did a little homework and came up with this:

2012 stats
UT team BA - .248
UNLV team BA - .297

UT team ERA - 4.65
UNLV team ERA - 5.06

UT W-L 24-31 3-15 road
UNLV W-L 26-31 16-15 home

Schedule strength to UT

Tennessee lost a lot of pitching and offense for that matter. Young roster and young pitching staff for the Vols. If we win 2 of 4 games I'd be elated!

Winning 2 of 4 against a team picked in the bottom half of a non power league wouldn't be good at all. They were under 500 and not very good at all last year

I agree, but neither were we for that matter. And we are younger than last year. Just don't see us going out there and dominating the first series of the year with this young of a team. Hope I'm wrong.

I see it that the worst SEC team should always dominate a poor mid major team on the weekends.

Midweeks are a little different.

We were a little ahead of UNLV in last year's iterative strength ratings at Boyds World (122 to 136), and a lot ahead of them in the Pseudo RPI (121 to 216). This is a series we need to win.

Wish I could be there. Infact I just want to see A vols game of any sort. That makes me a sad panda.

We are looking like an exciting team, a lot of runs in the first three games. Looking forward to going 2-2 tonight!
