Anyone have an update on Morasha Wiggins ?

Not sure how that can really be the only factor as players can easily be recruited over nowadays along with the impending transfer rules that will probably go into effect next year. 🤷‍♂️

I coach 17/18 year olds lol and I know they can barely see past their hands right in front of their face. So if they see playing time right now I don’t necessarily know or they think about the over-recruiting part. I just went thru this two years in a row with athletes. Now not ever 17/18 year old is the same but from teaching and coaching them they often jump the gun.
I just think immediate playing time would be an attraction.

Why wouldn't they? There is depth at the wing, but it's untested and, at least on paper, it's not like they'll be fighting against HS AAs for playing time.

Unless Tennessee lands a quality PF for 2021, I can easily see Burrell moving to that spot, which would leave the two wing positions wide open for whichever of the 20 and 21 recruits stands out the best.

Any depth is untested until they step on campus and perform. You can say that about anyone that is ranked until they prove themselves. But for right now Darby, Salary, Wynn, Horston, Suarez, Burrell, Rennie, and sometimes Puckett will be on the perimeter. While Wiggins would be a good addition like I previously stated it’s not like we don’t have others to play the spot they may not be “better” but we have players (yes... which still are untested but we will know some of their ability next year while she will still be a year away from playing at the collegiate level I assume if KJH sees a deficiency she will try and address it).

It looks like Kellie is moving to position less basketball so Puckett or Striplin at the 4 to stretch the floor seems to work. Are they not quality to you? Puckett was invited to the U19 try outs this year (this included top HS players and college freshman players). So I’m actually ok at the 4 for right now. But grabbing another banger wouldn’t hurt.

Pucket and Striplin aren't interchangeable...Striplin is more of an inside worker who can shoot the mid-long and Pucket is a mid-to-long gunner who can attack the basket... Wynn would be closer to the skillset that Morasha brings and what Rennia will take with her.

I have said from day one out of all the recruits left I wanted Wiggins and Miles...at this point both of them are still potentials. I am still pumped and still feeling good about both of them committing.

I won't give up that feeling until I have to

Been wrong before, but, not wrong until I AM wrong

But they both can play the 4 they both could play with Key at the 4 spot.

Well, her dad liked this post...

I still feel very good about our chances,,,Why would a player on Wiggins level, who should be playing for Natty's, want to go to a team that lost 8 games in a row to end their season,,,,Also remember the stir around Stephanie WHite,,,everybody thought she'd bring Vandy to instant prominence.

13 hours from now I will hear one of two things,,,One I expect and one I don't

You know, you're right. I forgot about Striplin, who is probably the most likely to inherit the 4 as a freshman...provided that she comes in ready to play at the college level.

Anyway, the fact that there is depth at the wing probably isn't a concern for Wiggins...unless she thinks those players are all better than her and she's unlikely to pass them on the depth chart. They all have their positives, but it's not like any of them are an Azzi Fudd who would be pencilled in as a starter from Day 1.

What on earth is Banghart selling over there that Harper isn't?

Tennessee got a negative image over the last few seasons. We got trashed in the news a lot as well. Young people read that and get a bunch of half truths. I do think our recruiting was damaged the last two seasons. Holly was kept a year too long. The negative press about the Westbrook situation was all over the place. Not exactly inviting. ESPN runs with it because anything that says Tennessee on women’s basketball gets a lot of clicks. The issues at NC were way more scandalous and they barely got a blurb.

The investigation that forced former UNC coach Sylvia Hatchell to step down made headlines. Four players that was involved in some of those incidents ending up transferring out.

Report: Hatchell probed for alleged racist remarks

Going back to 2015 when UNC was hit with the Notice of Allegations from the NCAA because of the bogus class scandal, the remaining players (Allisha Gray and Stephanie Mavunga) that was part of 2013 class with Diamond DeShields, transferred out due to the possibility of a post season ban.

Yeah, sometimes I think moms must not realize that superfans are poring over their social media posts with Sherlock Holmes-like skill, trying to detect any hint of where they think their daughters are leaning.

Me? I stopped obsessing over recruiting years ago. I still [obviously] obsess over the players on the current roster and I definitely keep up with the ones who are signees/verbal commits, but I happily leave all the worrying about players we may or may not ever see in a Tennessee jersey to the rest of you. Thanks for bearing that burden for me! lol

I just got home and am looking into this...I'm not sure where they originated from, but Mo, nor her Father has told me of a pending decision...give me a little time and I will see what I can find out
