Anyone having withdrawls

not arguing whether she's over hyped, so i made no point for you. she's not in the class of her teammate of the Penske/Ganassi boys, but she's the first driver right behind him. i'm talking about her on track ability. it's better than you give her credit for.

the hype isn't her fault. (well, i didn't think so anyway, but broyles raised an interesting point.)

they showed a 15 second clip off the stuff on the track. pretty hard to tell how long she was riding around the Rolling Roadblock.

The thing that topped it off for me was her being nominated for an ESPY last night. What a joke that is. I wasn't sure about the snowboarding women, but I'd be pretty confident that Danica isn't even close to the league of her 3 opponents in the ESPY'S. She's a 6-8 place driver in the IRL right now.

True, but on Danica, I think she did good with what she had a Rahal-Letterman but since she's been at AGR she's been average at best. She may win 1-2 races a year, but I see nothing more. Sadly, while it may give indy racing more exposure now it could potentially hurt it in the long haul because eventually people have to get burned out by Danica

The last thing I want to associate with racing is 2 girls bitching at each other like high schoolers... some of you may not like Nationwide but at least that craps not part of it

His name is Dennis Hamlin, and he's fully involved in crying like a girl. Not as bad as Danica, but he's pretty bad

personally, i'd rather watch a cat fight than that garbage the nationwide series calls racing. to each their own i suppose. they should just clear out the infield and turn it into a demolition derby.

Let's put it this way, I love the Nationwide. I don't watch every indy race, but I've either watched (or taped and watched within the day) in 5 years(Nationwide). But you have to admit watching 26 cars in Indy is probably better than watching a Nationwide race filled with 10 S&P cars each race and another 10 that have 2-3 cars total and are being lapped every 20 laps. That leaves about 20-25 more cars and usually 15 of them are Sprint Cup guys. So now you have 10 more, half of those are guys that will be cup racing within the next year. Then, you're down to the good ole' fashion Grand National drivers such as Jason Keller who is the face of old time BGN racing

You made my point-she's 6th in points. She's no TK, Dixon, Castroneves, etc. Why all the hype? You hear nothing of Dan Wheldon or Kanaan during highlights on SC.

Once the Harvick/Coy Gibbs situation took place Harvick calmed down. He hasn't done much since the suspension. Still, I can't think of a single driver that's pissed after EVERY accident they're in. It's not like Danica is Mrs. Car Control Queen out there.

Duno is slow, but based on the video I saw Danica could have waited another corner. It's not like she was stuck behind Milka for 5 laps and lost 15 seconds to the leader. Even if she did, IT'S PRACTICE!!! She needs to chill a bit

I agree there was too much made of a practice incident, but it did appear Milka was not watching her mirrors or intentionally blocking Danica, Jealousy?

well how do you suggest they fix it ole wise one?

I wasn't asked and I'm not too wise, but I'll give my opinion anyway. Take it for what it is or isn't worth. I think they should either not allow Cup regulars to run in the series or limit how many races they can enter. Then there should be no points awarded to the Cup drivers if they do run any races. I think the nationwide races can survive without the Cup drivers. This would even the quality of talent somewhat as you wouldn't have the Cup drivers dominating. I also think they should restrict the cars engine wise to keep the costs down to give those who aren't in a development program a better chance to compete. I even would consider making it a spec series where all teams run the same chassis and engine. Make the driver the only real variable. Any thing can be fixed if the will and effort are there.

i was actually going to suggest subsidizing the smaller teams with no Cup connections. would never happen, but they could make the Cup teams/drivers put their prize money back into the series, to be divided up by the non affiliated teams.

the small teams have no chance. i'd rather watch the truck series.

The Truck Series is the most exciting of all 3 in my opinion. The racing they have on 1.5/2 mile tracks is unbelievable.

i don't know that i'd say unbelievable, but it's pretty good. if a race is on and there's nothing else, i can watch it and not feel the need to bash my head through a glass window like the Nationwide.

The sad part is not that long ago, two or three years, the Busch Series had closer racing at most tracks than Cup. Partly due to shorter races than Cup, which is why I advocate shortening the Cup races. I think it would pick-up the TV ratings as well. The reason the Nationwide is not as competitive today is the disparity between Cup related teams and those unrelated. I agree the truck races tend to have closer racing than either of the other series, because aero is not a big issue.
