I think some of us might be missing a portion of the point that some others of us are trying to make.
It's not as if this is a zero sum game with definitive absolutes. There seems to be a "well if RS doesn't suck than you have to say CPF sucks...so which is it?"
Here's my analysis in a nutshell as brief as I can get it (I know everyone is dying for this):
There has been a gradual decline in the coaching quality on our offensive staff over a period of years. RS was thrust into a position he was ill prepared for; and to boot, he was given a sub-par staff to help see him through this development process. Result: Poorly executing, disorganized, and confused looking offense. And that is exactly what one would expect from the theory I posited just above. Therefore, the problem is not totally RS, although he represents a piece of it.
To have a consistently great team, we need the best coaches in the country. Frankly, I can't think of a worse offensive staff of any team in the SEC, although I am not familiar with the KY staff.
But I think it would be lunacy to get rid of CPF at this point. He just needs to swallow his pride, hire better people, then hit the recruiting trail. But RS is, sadly, somewhat of a scapegoat, seeing that it was Foulmer that put him in a position to fail.
