Anyone Hear Sue Bird's Comments?

Bird was on point and I honestly think that this team is broken. Because the chemistry issue appears to be a lot deeper and it looks like Warlick and her staff are in over their heads.

The body language is very telling of a team that is going through the motions. And at the college level, most likely it's because there is a huge crater in the locker room amongst the players that the coaches don't know how to fix.

It's fixable with a new coach. But Warlick and her staff have played their hand with this team and have allowed whatever is going on to spiral out of control.

But actually they can fix it by going with a smaller rotation and letting them get out and run. By playing who gives them the best chance to win, not who's been there before or who will pout and whine because of lack of playing time. If you cut your rotation down and it starts winning games, those who pout or whine can go kick rocks back in their dorm rooms.

Take advantage of the unique skill sets that Deshields and Cooper bring to the table coupled with Russell and Graves down low and Dunbar and Reynolds shooting threes.

Graves and Deshields have been playing some of the worse basketball, I ever seen tho. I can't believe this is Graves senior, she doesn't even look draftable.

Nice post on the other parts of the post.

But you still need five players and right now it has been Russell and Reynolds, playing the steadiest basketball.
Nared is all over the place, looks like a headcase on the court, we have no alpha females, we have a team of betas...

Holly is not Alpha, so yeah its gonna be hard. A team of mental midgets, that's all, let's hope they get tougher, Beta coach can get by with Alpha playas, but a Beta coach leading beta players is average, and not good.

So, Holly or her player one of the got to get tougher.

Pat Alpha. Geno Alpha. Muffett Buffett Betta. Diggins gave her Confidence now Alpha. Kim Alpha. Jeff Alpha.

There is an "alpha" on this team but it looks as though either Warlick has decided to lock her down or there is some sort of jealously, envy or whatever amongst the other girls against Deshields and Warlick is bowing down to it.

I don't see how the national Freshman of the Year, multiple Olympian goes from starting to the bench just like that. Te'a can play with her because they played together so many years as kids in AAU.

Deshields needs to be allowed to play just like she was at UNC. And last time I checked, their record was not as bad as the Lady Vols is now. Build your team around her and Cooper just like UNC did with Deshields, Gray and Mavunga. What hurt them in their run was the lack of a solid and consistent PG. Letting Cooper start and play will allow her to get the experience she needs. Carter is just a game manager with limited abilities.

One thing that was much better last night was rebounding. Those second chance points will kill you and A&M got a ton of rebounds and scores. Much better last night and I'll say if we out rebound SC and keep them off the boards we win.

Vandy is smaller than Tennessee. SC is huge. Russell will need to play very aggressively to keep Coates and Wilson off the glass.

Holly tried this and it bit her in ass. Deshields has not been playing good basketball. And when she wasn't playing playing good, Holly still play her extended minutes, and we had a rash of turnovers and bunch of losses, which her play, huge in the ladies losses.

Really, do you have confidence in a player giving the games away, Deshields need to relax. Holly has done nuttin but try to support Deshields and Deshields haven't been able to deliver. So what do you do?

Ok, she's a hurt Alpha, cos her play and demeanor is certainly not Alpha, an Alpha leads, all the time.

This game is where we might really miss Jasmine Jones because she is just so aggressive on the boards. Will Graves and Russell both need to start to help with rebounding?

During the off season there are plenty of coaching seminars that one could take. Holly could send her assistants to those and maybe get some ideas how to run practices. Since a team isn't going to play better than they practice, that might be a sensible thing to try. Or she could just keep doing what she is doing, but that doesn't seem very productive this season.

It was a vast improvement from the first Vandy matchup when they beat us 36 to 29 on the boards. Your talking about plus 17 from that first game.
As far as SC I don't think we can win the boards the key will be to stay close or tie. If that happens you have to win the turnover and shooting percentage battle which certainly will a tall order for our team.

We have to shoot a good percentage from the floor. If we shoot in the 40s, we'll be in this game, especially if we knock down some threes.

But if one of SC guards get hot from behind the arc, it mite be a long day.
