Here is something I found on another board.

Player Update: UT signee Ramar Smith is expected to have back his grades and standardized test scores by the end of this week. Smith needs to post qualifying results and pass through the NCAA Clearinghouse and UT admissions in time for the start of the second term of summer school on July 10.

Suspended UT player Tony Passley is on course to be reinstated in time for the start of the second term of summer school. Passley, who was suspended after being arrested March 5, has since pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana charges. He's in the final stages of a compliance program set forth by Pearl.

ETSU Game: UT fans can pencil in a home game with East Tennessee State University on Dec. 30 at Thompson-Boling Arena. The Vols haven't released their upcoming schedule, but ETSU released its, and it showed the date with UT.

That's interesting to know. I will probably only be at Thompson-Boling over Christmas Break next year.

Brent Hubbs just reported that he talked to Ramar and the coaches have told him that his stuff is at the NCAA Clearinghouse but he hasn't got his test scores yet. IDK how he hasn't since they should be online.

I am not getting a good feeling about this. I heard today he should definitely have them by today or tomorrow.

I'll go back to a comment I made some time back. If Tim Floyd passes on recruiting a guy due to academics, he has to have serious issues.

We all knew he had issues but this is a no harm no foul situation. Even if he doesn't qualify, what bad will come of it? We will be in good position for him when he gets out of prep and we are in good with his friend Manny Harris.

If you operate under the assumption that Smith's recruitment didn't take away from our recruitment of a PG who is academically qualified, you're right. I think that's a safe assumption to make. Timmy Crowell is the only guy we seemed to have a shot with and he isn't a difference maker.

I think Ramar will qualify. Well I hope anyways, hoping is always good.

The Clearing House is going to have a field day with his transcript.

Yeah, I read on another board that he made the grade. His transcript will go through scrutiny. It isn't as bad as some people think(5+ high schools and blah blah blah). He went from his HS to a prep school that UCONN told him to for grades. After a short time at that prep school, he dropped out and decided to go back to the previous HS. The problem is, I've read that he went right back to the school but I've also heard he was out of school for a month before going back. If it was the latter, he may not get through. If it was the former, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Help me out on this one. If he has received his score, and UT has sent it to the NCAA, wouldn't that be an indication that he made the score? Otherwise, why would they forward it? What part of the process am I missing?

There was a lapse between him leaving prep school and returning to Detroit. My understanding is that it was substantially shorter than a month.
