He’s been on campus a few months and hasn’t played a single snap of football. He’s a 3-star prospect that is a dime a dozen. Prove your worth and you’ll get paid. Transfer to another school and he’s going to be in the exact same situation.

I feel confident that if there were a problem with our collective, we would see the evidence in the form of transfers out. Until that starts happening, I’m going to not worry and be happy.

How’d this kid get past our ‘we only recruit kids that fit our culture’ that everyone talks about?

This is the PERFECT snapshot of EXACTLY why everyone with a brainstem thinks this younger generation; along with the USA, is seriously F@#$d! I'm depressed that my generation didn't do a good enough job raising em better.
Yet your generation is the reason this one is F****D.!!
Our generation just has a cellphone and can air out his or hers feelings like yours couldn’t or back then you’d be seeing the same crap.

Or... the post was completely misinterpreted or taken out of context and you guys are trashing a kid for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
It wasn’t an intelligent post regardless. And I agree could be completely misinterpreted but reading it you know how this is going to be interpreted and it’s probably also the reason why it was immediately taken down.

I'm pretty sure there is some type of NDA in that contract he signed. They'd be foolish not to have something in place at this point.

Paid for what? He hasn't even played one game. He needs to stay off social media and go gain some weight to start!

Obviously disillusioned by the overly vocal members of our fan base not taking advantage of the opportunity to feed the collective and them being able to spread the wealth wider. Pretty clear he sees their two faced fandom.

Pertaining to the continual generation-blaming that so often takes place here, this quote sums-up my thoughts well:

"Each generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.
This is an illusion, and one should recognise it as such." -George Orwell

He’s a three star freshman I doubt he even has a nil.
Yep. It's clear he's not quite up to speed on how this NIL thing works. Thinks it's free money for every player? Pretty soon we'll have a lady vol upset she's not getting Olivia Dunne money.

I mean it’s hard to get mad at idiot kids for being idiot kids. Chalk it up to a life lesson and knock someone’s head off on special teams and we’ll call it even. I get worried when the same kids keep making mistakes, this I don’t have a problem with. Honestly do think underclassmen shouldn’t be on social media about the program if they can help it anyways.

This is especially true on these boards. Everybody less than 70 should be seen and not heard.

Oh I agree its our fault. Timeouts and participation trophies were stupid. However... no one gave a **** about our feelings when we were growing up. You had to do what you were told whether you liked it or not.

It’s been an overcorrection, as is so often the case. We can acknowledge kids’ (and adults’) feelings without validating every single emotion someone has. We’ve gone from “your feelings don’t matter” to “your feelings are all that matter.” Gotta find the happy medium.

Empathy and compassion are important, and in some ways we’ve taken steps in the right direction as a culture, but we’ve got to get away from this idea that kids (and again, adults) have the right to make their anxiety/anger/depression/fear/sadness everyone else’s problem.
