I'm pretty old school and I enjoy sitting down and reading a good old fashioned paper occasionally. I probably only read about 1 or 2 newspapers in a week, but it has become a ritual that I've done for 40+ years.

The Knoxville News Sentinel just sent a notice that they were raising the monthly rate to $38.50. Apparently when your subscriber base declines you raise rates to make sure that the rest of your base leaves. Too much money for me.

What a sad day that I quit having a newspaper delivered to my house.

I work in the newspaper business. It’s a tough market for the city and national papers. The smaller community and town papers still hold their own.

I read our paper and I have a digital subscription to The NY Times.

Actually, someone brings in our local paper that’s published once a week to work. I usually go through it during break.

Sadly, there is nothing in the printed newspaper that is actual news. By the time the paper hits your driveway that news is old. If I want national news I look online at Fox News and USAToday, which provides almost instantaneous stories. If I want local news I look at any of the local tv channel web sites. Sure, the story may not run until their news runs on tv but I see it sooner than when the paper is delivered

I still love a newspaper, but the Knoxville, Nashville and Baton Rouge papers are terrible. If I moved back to E TN, I'd have to get the Maryville and Chattanooga papers, I guess.

Do you get your evening news from Walter Cronkite also?
