Anyone Still Take a Newspaper?

Do you get your evening news from Walter Cronkite also?

I used to until Dan Rather took over 40 years ago. Give me a break, I might be older, but technologically I'll match my skills against anyone.
I like holding a piece of paper in my hand and I also don't have to worry about the battery going dead on my newspaper or paperback book.

I work in the newspaper business. It’s a tough market for the city and national papers. The smaller community and town papers still hold their own.

I read our paper and I have a digital subscription to The NY Times.

My ex is in the business, too. She, too, says that while the large daily papers are struggling, the smaller weeklies are doing just fine.

My job provides me with online access to most newspapers in TN. I might be willing to pay something for online access but I never thought about what my limit would be.

Asheville Citizen Times has good local stories. We cough up for seven days/ week. (We don’t watch TV news lite.)

One gripe, not unique to ACT, but they’re especially turrble: no references are given in articles to help the noobs know where the story is taking place. I can’t keep Google Mapping “19 West Dead Possum Holler” forever.

KNS for 30+ years. Probably won't get another check from me. I'm interested in local news. No high school sports coverage, and John Adams would make me hate my own team if I read his drivel.
It's no longer a news paper, it's more a porch for propaganda..... either side.
Give me facts not your opinion.

We still subscribe to our local paper now in its 128th year as well as a neighboring county's paper both of which only come out once a week.

The Knoxville News Sentinel just sent a notice that they were raising the monthly rate to $38.50. Apparently when your subscriber base declines you raise rates to make sure that the rest of your base leaves. Too much money for me.

When I had the privilege of delivering the KNS the monthly price was either 4.20 or 5.25 depending on whether there were 4 or 5 Tuesdays in the month. (1.05/week)

Talk about inflation!
