From the looks of things our football team is stuck with CDD because the university doesn't want to open the checkbook for a big time coach. If CCM has us competing for national championships in the next few years which it looks like he very well could do, he would be due a nice raise. UT will either have to pay the man, or he will walk because he is sure to be a big time name in the coaching carousel if he keeps this up.

Anyone worried we won't pay him?

Let him make a tournament first.

Then we can start.

And with Pratt Pavilion and the recent renovations to TBA, I'm pretty sure we didn't do that to go back to the dark days.

Wow that's a big leap when he hasn't made his first tournament yet

Can we merge this with the 50 other, will CCM leave us threads Z???

All seriousness, I don't see CCM going anywhere, only Purdue would worry me and they seem to be in good hands.

After Martin makes the tourney this year he will earn himself a nice raise.

Im just saying with what he did with last years team, having this years team ranked in some preseason top 25 polls, and next years recruiting class - the future looks pretty bright.

Make it to the dance
Get this recruiting class in
And continue to develop the players. I'm sure he will get the money that he deserves.

Phew yeah! Ranked in zero top 25 polls, one 5 star recruit to go along with a couple unranked 3 stars, and Jarnell gone in the draft after this year most likely. On the way to that national championship!

No, if CCM proves himself we will pay whatever it takes to keep him. Of course sometimes it's not just about money. Either way I think the OP is putting the cart before the horse here.

Way to make a splash onto the board. Congrats.

Really a good knowledge of the team there.
Are unrated 3 stars like unrated rated players?

We will need to give him a raise if this year turns out well enough. Looks like most top D1, big conference coaches make between $2.3 million and Calipari"s $4 million. CCM is at $1.3 million (11th in the SEC, with only LSU, Texas A&M and Miss. State paying less than UT). Interesting to note that Painter at Purdue was making $1.3 until his big raise last winter bringing his Purdue salary to $2.35 million. That amount ranked 11th among 61 of the teams (7 teams do not report salaries) in last year's NCAA tournament.

Oh this should be fun...

Do you want some links to us in pre season top 25, because ill gladly provide them.

While I'm doing that, you may wanna look over our roster, last night there were multiple 4* and ranked players on the floor.

You also may want to check a few mock drafts, or how about CBS's that came out today, has Jarnell at about #60, a question mark to even be drafted, it's most likely he returns.

Please continue though.

If CCM makes the tourney i expect a raise that'll put him in the top 5 ong SEC coaches.

Yeah, that's definitely the typical path:

NIT ---> 10 seed ---> FINAL FOURS AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!1!!!111!

Nobody at all was saying the guy was right by saying we would be national champions. Do we want it to happen most definitely. We are moving in the right direction. You don't have to be a Vols fan. I'm sure the UK bandwagon would welcome you.

I'm still waiting on your roster breakdown, or did you do a little research and realize how wrong you were?

The comment "One 5* and a couple unranked 3*" was in reference to the comments made about how the next recruiting class was going to be another piece to the national championship puzzle.

Is a lineup of:

PG: Golden SR 4* top 75
SG: Hubbs FR 5* top 20
SF: McRae SR 4* top 50
F: Maymom SR 4* top 50
F: Stokes JR 5* top 20

National championship quality?

So they are, in fact, ranked and rated? Someone in this thread is either a very poor reseacher or just talking sh!t. Maybe he's referencing some other kind of ranking?
