Anyone worried we will lose CCM in the future?

We will need to give him a raise if this year turns out well enough. Looks like most top D1, big conference coaches make between $2.3 million and Calipari"s $4 million. CCM is at $1.3 million (11th in the SEC, with only LSU, Texas A&M and Miss. State paying less than UT). Interesting to note that Painter at Purdue was making $1.3 until his big raise last winter bringing his Purdue salary to $2.35 million. That amount ranked 11th among 61 of the teams (7 teams do not report salaries) in last year's NCAA tournament.

Martin will get a raise after this season. I'm perfectly fine with him making what he does right now. When we make the tournament and shock a few teams this season, he'll get a nice raise. This season is MAJOR for UT basketball and coach Martin. If the team shows improvement and we win some ball games, recruiting will come. Stokes and Hubbs is a lot of momentum so now just win ball games and the rest will take care of itself.

Is a lineup of:

PG: Golden SR 4* top 75
SG: Hubbs FR 5* top 20
SF: McRae SR 4* top 50
F: Maymom SR 4* top 50
F: Stokes JR 5* top 20

National championship quality?

I honestly don't think Stokes will be around for the 2013 season. That means good things though......means he had a great year and the team benefits. If Maymom wasn't hurt to start the season, I would think there was a chnce he'd leave as well but he has to show a little more consistancy.

Phew yeah! Ranked in zero top 25 polls, one 5 star recruit to go along with a couple unranked 3 stars, and Jarnell gone in the draft after this year most likely. On the way to that national championship!

Your not making any friends here sir.

You seem to forget that Martin took over a damaged UT program with huge dark clouds looming over, with hardly any support, installed a new system, coached a ton of players up, and was a win or two away from reaching the NCAA tournament in his first year, right? You can understand why people would question if we could possible lose him or not. You do realize preseason polls are worthless, right?

No. Not with zero depth.

SR D'momtre Edwards
RS SO Quintin Chievous
SO Armani Moore
JR Yemi Makanjoula
RS FR Derek Reese
FR Travon Landry
FR Aj Davis

You're right, zero depth...all you need is 7/8 man rotation to really compete, and we have that.

Jarnell right now is projected late 2nd round in most recent mocks, he's not leaving with that projection...he'd probably have to average 18/12 to be a top 15 pick...if that happened yea he would probably leave.

Right now I'm about 80% he's back.

I was referring to ONE 5 STAR (Hubbs) and a couple (READ: 2) unRANKED 3 stars in the barren class of 2012.

And he took that 5 star recruit from the likes of Duke and Memphis with a very limited showing (2nd part of the season). Impressive if you ask me. That's 2 5 star recruits in 2 season and he still hasn't won an NCAA tournmanet game. Everyone knows the man can coach.

If CCM makes the tourney i expect a raise that'll put him in the top 5 ong SEC coaches.

That reminds me of Larry Brown's Indiana Pacers contract during the 90s. If I remember correctly, his contract called for his annual salary to be the average of the five highest paid NBA coaches. Making Martin's based on the average of the top five SEC coaches might be the next step if the team performs this year.
