Your hatred for Kentucky is blinding you. Recruiting is a HUGE part of being a good college coach.

And I get that but name ONE COY award that went to the coach that did the best recruiting job, and not coaching job.

I'm not saying recruiting isn't part of coaching, it absolutely is. BUT the voters for the COY award don't feel that it's part of the criteria, as evidenced by this years and past years COY's.

Recruiting is not a consideration in any of this selection done, though...at all.

Not directly but the best players make any coach look better.

Just pointing out that trying to discredit a guy because he has the best players is stupid when guys recruit their own players.

I'm not discrediting him, I'm simply saying he won't get it, he never has. So I was saying going off past criteria, they don't take recruiting into account, they take the actual coaching job you did into account.

I don't think it should have been haith either, but I also get these awards are largely decided before the NCAA tournament even begins, so he was the choice that made te most sense.

NBA team in college that hasnt played team ball in their life.

If that's all you have to coach them to do your jobs a lot easier than the rest of the coaches. And I don't think they play that much team ball, I see more 1 on 1, or 2-2. I'm more impressed with their defensive knowledge than team ball.

If you really think that cal had one of the toughest coaching jobs in the nation this year then you're too biased to see the truth. C'mon man, you're more knowledgable on basketball than that.

Haith doesnt deserve it imo. Cal succeeded more with a freshmen team that hadnt played team ball ever.

I never said Haith deserved it... but it should be Pitino, Izzo, Groce and a few others before it should have been Cals..

Question though...where was Mizzou ranked preseason and where was UK ranked preseason? Who exceeded expectations more?

If we are going with exceeding expectations than Prohm is far and away your COY.

And he didn't get nearly the recognition i thought he should have for it.

Exceeding expectations shouldn't solely be the criteria but it clearly does play a part. They rarely give it to the team that was pre season top 5 and finished top 5, in other words only met expectations.

I agree he should have gotten more recognition. Just out of curiosity, who is your COY? You might have already said it in the thread and I missed it. If so, I apologize.

I don't think there was a clear cut COY this year but I'd say Izzo. Jmo

Not even preseason top 25 yet wins the big12 and gets a 1 seed impressive.
