Hello everyone. I was just strolling through your forums since our game is coming up next week, and I noticed a couple of bad apples from Bama hanging out in here causing trouble. I apologize on their behalf for they are ignorant and do not represent the actions of all Bama followers.

While this is a very heated rivalry, especially in the last few years with all the NCAA mess, I think it's fairly stupid going on other fans' boards and taunting them like 10 year olds. Sorry you have to put up with them.

Anyway, on the topic of football, what I'm really glad of is that Alabama and Tennessee will both be meeting with GOOD teams this year. For so long it's been kind of lop-sided, which tended to take some of the excitement out of the 3rd Saturday in October...for both sides. But with Tennessee coming in with the talent they have and Alabama coming to life like they have, this will be one that all eyes are on...they way it should be. May the best team win next week. Roll Tide!

Nice post! Welcome to the board. It should be a great, hard fought game. I wouldn't count either team out, but must admit that Bama has the edge this year. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

Always good to have a healthy conversation with a worthy opponent. In every avenue of life there are going to be a few morons cluttering up the landscape. You're right that both schools have good teams. I watched the Tide dismantle the hated Gators and I have to say it didn't hurt my feelings any. My condolences go to Mr. Prothro and wish him a speedy recovery. Can't wait for next Saturday. Third Saturday in October is a religious experience and here's hoping another lengthy winning/losing streak won't happen for either team.

Welcome. I may talk trash, but it's only 'cause the game's coming up. So for the next week and a half, Buck Fama.

Hey MAC, good to have you aboard...appreciate your attitude and loyalty to your team and our rivalry. The SEC is the greatest, and one of the reasons is Tennessee/Alabama...Go Vols!

Nice post,

I only take exception to the one thing. You guys have a good team this year, and we have a good defense.

I'm not sure our offense is planning on making the trip.

They showed up for the last half of the LSU game, and it was really nice to have them around.

Maybe they'll make an appearance in Tuscaloosa just long enough for us to eek out a win.

Good luck on the rest of your season,

For what its worth from a Gator fan, I'd say 'bama by a billion. Sorry. But they are really good and UT is really mediocre.

I calls 'em like I sees 'em.

Did you watch the Ole miss Game? I just watched the replay today and Bama didn't look any better against the Rebs than we did. I would say that a Billion is a stretch. :ninja:

Bama has looked good 2 times - South Carolina and Florida. They have looked average against MTSU, S. Miss, Arkansas and Ole Miss.

We have looked good for halves at a time and average (relative to other teams) at times.

I would rank Georgia as the true toughest opponent we've played followed by LSU. I see no difference between us and Florida. We both have very good D's and questionable O's. Play 10 times and I would bet they come out 5 - 5.

That being said, I don't see much difference between us and Bama - as always play in the trenches and turnovers will determine the outcome.

Sounds like somebody did a little too much drowning away his sorrows last night.

Bama has looked "really good" only against a crappy South Carolina team and a (now obviously) overrated Florida team. Bama SHOULD have lost to Ole Miss, if the Rebs hadn't shot themselves in the foot and missed field goals. MTSU hung tight for over a half. (That's Middle Tennessee State, if you haven't heard of them before -- the "Blue Raiders." NOT exactly a perennial national title contender).

As for Tennessee, we handled the Rebels relatively easily, and we came back and beat LSU in possibly the most emotional half of football in UT history.

I'm certainly not yapping off about us being "great," but to say that there is that type of gap between Bama and UT is a little perplexing.

I think it's going to be a close game no matter who wins. After seeing the lack of performance that Bama put forth against Ole Miss, it looks to me like the Vols can definately win this game.
