Apologies to recruits and players

I would like to apologize for some of the remarks by some of these so called TN fans about how awful we are and wanting others players benched for a bad game. Recruits we need you to get back to elite status and players thank you for wanting to play for us during these down years and giving all you have. We sre all not like this some of us do appreciate you. GBO

I'm sorry, but this so lame. It really is beyond ridiculous when fans can't have honest discussions on a message board because of fear of hurting the feelings of recruits or current players.

Here's an idea. If the players don't like negativity, play better. For the recruits? Know that you can play day one over most of this current roster. For the incessantly optimistic fans who refuse to allow any negative assessment of this team and it's staff? Get over it.

I'm thinking, as soon as we log into this forum, Freak should have soft, gentle, happy and uplifting music playing to accompany our posts and discussions. This would be a kinder, gentler forum.

Maybe Bread or Peter, Paul, and Mary

No what is rediculous is that 30+ yr old men complaining about an 18 yr old not playing the way we expect them too. What I am appoligizing forbid the stupid fans that make death threats and saying you dropped a wide open pass so you need benched. I can understand frustration but the majority found in here never played big time football. I am totally fine with being mad at coaching because they are grown men doing this for a living. You have your opinion and I have mine and that is why we have the first amendment and are able to get on here and talk if you don't like what I say don't read my post.

Recruits don't give a damn about what's said on a message board. All they want to know is how soon can they play, are they going to compete for championships, and are the coaches good enough to get them to the NFL.

...

Vol fans need to build on UGA/USC games. It was a different team then and it will be a different one 2-3 years down the road.

Brick by Brick.

Our players and coaches needed to build on those games. They showed some promise in those games.

You have so many competing statements in here, it's difficult to follow your logic. But let me try.

So if you're over 30, you shouldn't complain about 18 year old players performance? May I ask why not? Does being young preclude you from meeting expectations? Do fans of college sports not have a right to discuss frustrations with their teams performance, especially when they pay for tickets, purchase merchandise, and/or support the university financially with donations? For you, apparently not, UNLESS you played "big time" football? That seems to be a rather ridiculously limited pool of individuals, but whatever floats your boat.

The death threat issue is being thrown around here like it's the norm. It's not. It's some kook & should treated as such.

But then you say you have your 1st amendment right and if I don't like it, I shouldn't read your post? Ok, I won't. How about you heed your own advice and do the same with any perceived negative posts by others on this board? Just seems fair.

Hopefully Recruits realize that all fan bases have Sunshine Pumpers, Negative folks, and trolls. It's not just Vol fans. I do believe recruits check out the atmosphere of a Fan Base before signing date. Just hope the recruits know that most Vol Fans are not looking to fire the head coach....the few that do, don't represent the majority.

Lmao, thought you'd take the bait on "NCCA"...you miss it entirely.
Delight to Vol fans is close, and in more ways than our rebuilding(not that you remember Shula era).... Delight to Vol Fans may very well come tomorrow when we finish strong....that's after Vol fans get a Iron bowl treat.
