Apparently it doesn’t matter if the Vols win the SEC championship

A little off topic, and maybe my post should be somewhere else, but I've tried to like Coach Cal because I know Coach Barnes does and a lot of other SEC coaches respect him. But I swear, from the opening tip to the last play of the game he is whining, complaining, and working the officials. Makes me think he's a cheater at heart and makes me not like him. JMO
"If my players look confused, that 's my fault". that 's an actual Calipari quote. Not many coaches would offer that sound byte. guy's okay in my book. they all work the officials, just in different styles. Musclehead and Wade were the worst this season.

So....we beat Kentucky 2 out of 3...have same amount of losses and more quad 1 wins. It doesn't make logical sense to give Ky a higher seed... regardless what happens today. It just doesn't. Past success shouldn't factor into it one iota.

I have a question for anyone because I don’t follow CBB very much. Does it matter whether we end up 2 or 3 seed?

Yes.

Playing a 15 seed in the 1st round and a 7/10 winner in the 2nd is a bit better than a 14 and 6/11. But I do think the jump to 3-to-2 is not as big as the jump from 4-to-3.

That said, what probably matters more is who is the #1 seed on our bracket.

Throw records out the window. NOBODY wants to play Virginia Tech right now for example....and Duke just doesn't look good at all to me. They can't shoot free throws....or 3s....and Coach K is going down early in the tourney. Watch out for these late emerging teams. One of which is Texas a and m.

Especially if the 1 in our region is Baylor 🙏

This will be the year our Vols break through and win a tourney title and this will be the year the committee “penalizes” the SEC champ, for playing a Sunday championship game. Count on it.
GBO!!

We're Tennessee'd if we do or Tennessee'd if we don't. Wait a minute that's not how the saying goes.

Barnes screams at his players, Calliperri screams at the refs--with histrionics like clapping. He should be reprimanded and fined.
At very least should’ve been a technical! He was being a total smart ass and showing up refs after they got away with murder entire game! This is why I don’t like him and HATE Wildca$h.

Cool story bro: my bro-in-law and some friends were in Nashville a few years ago and met Cal. They were waiting for a table at a restaurant and he walked in.

They said hi and introduced themselves etc. My BIL says "we have a friend that's going to be so jealous. He's a huge UK fan and he and his wife decided to go to the restaurant across the street."

Cal says "Well let's go say hi to him" and they walked across the street and talked to his friend for about five minutes. He was really taken aback as how nice the guy was.

According to this CBS analyst

Tennessee 69, Kentucky 62
After winning four straight SEC Tournament titles between 2015 and 2018, Kentucky will be absent from the championship game yet again after the No. 3 seed Wildcats lost 69-62 against No. 2 seed Tennessee in Saturday's semifinals. The loss will also drop UK from a projected No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament to a projected No. 2 seed, according to CBS Sports Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm.
Tennessee will play No. 8 seed Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament title game at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday before the 6 p.m. ET NCAA Tournament Selection Show on CBS. The Volunteers entered Saturday's action as a No. 3 seed in Palm's Bracketology and will only solidify their standing after picking up a 10th Quad 1 victory.

The loss drops Kentucky out of a 1 seed... but the win does NOTHING for Tennessee at all? That makes no sense. "CBS Sports Bracketology Expert" Rosie Palm can kiss my a$$.

If the brackets are done on Sat, then SEC needs to move their tournament back a day to end on Sat.
According to "CBS Bracketology Expert" Rosie Palm, the NCAA Tournament's selection committee must leave at least some degree of flexibility open for the top seeds, because Palm just claimed that Kentucky fell out of contention for a possible #1 seed with yesterday's loss. So, it only stands to reason, that Tennessee could have helped themselves yesterday with the win... but apparently, there is a double standard here.

Definitely a double standard.

What I don’t see is the love for Auburn.
