Apparently John Ward had some influence on Rece Davis.....

Stepped right out of that closet.

“Tennessee and Nico Iamaleava, they’re crazy about Nico and he is a fine, fine prospect and excellent quarterback,” Davis said on the show. “Growing and has room for growth. And Tennessee needs some growth out of that offense and out of the receivers making plays down the field. That’s not why Tennessee might be in that group with Texas and Georgia, and probably Ohio State. It’s the fact that they’re rolling about a dozen dudes through the defensive front. All of whom aren’t just big, wide bodies. They are rear-end-kicking, trouble-making, havoc causers up front.”

On the other hand, I had to listen to Kesling while in-transit during the 3rd quarter. His call of our TD had all the emotion of him describing a trip to the grocery store.
Maybe so, & old Bob can't hold a candle to John Ward; but travelling through South Carolina on Saturday, we listened to USCjr game. Gamecock broadcasters Todd Ellis & Tommy Suggs are simply wretched! Kesling not nearly that bad.

Todd Ellis is like a cartoon character. Everything is a breathless yell in a fake Anchorman tone.

Painting the picture via radio seems to be a lost art nowadays, unfortunately.
