I feel the same way. It just seems like a lack of talent ( no one is a go-to guy who can score on a consistent basis ). They seem to play hard, but just lose the game by not being able to hit outside shots. Defenses have learned how to beat us by cutting off the dunk/lay up ( clog up the middle) and force us to shoot outside where we can't hit. I'm at peace with where they are at. It's like expecting your autistic son to win the spelling bee.Brother, hope springs eternal but I don’t see this team getting past the second round. Or we could suddenly have an awakening and reach the Final Four. They are just too Jekyll and Hyde. Our chances are down to a flip of the coin no matter who we play.
This is not a knock on these kids at all. I believe they’ve played their hearts out most of the time. My hat is off to each of them. Not sure what the problem is but, the times I’ve watched them, it surely wasn’t a lack of effort.
Huge difference in terms of % chance of advancing as a 3 verse 5 seed.I think that's the plan. No reason to bring 'em back now. Our seeding is 3-5.. Personally, I don't see a big difference and all will bring a tough opponent. I'd sit 'em, take my beatings and hit the tournament healthy and as rested as possible. See if we can get hot at the right time and make some noise. About all that's left for this team this season.
True, but for this beaten down and wearied roster, I would argue that it really doesn't matter that much. Any opponent we'd see as a 3-5 seed will likely get us unless Barnes does something to limit some minutes and if he does that for guys like ZZ and Vescovi, we're pretty much losing out except for maybe SCjr. If he keeps playing those guys 35+ per night, we'll still be in the soup come tournament time. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'll say it again...this season took a hit when we didn't secure a PG ready to play in the off season from the portal.Huge difference in terms of % chance of advancing as a 3 verse 5 seed.
