These are good points. I'd pile on by pointing out that there aren't really any coaches left who would shock me in the same way the Bielema hire shocked me.

There are few coaches out there whose names haven't been thrown around... the only remote similarities would be Chris Petersen and Chip Kelly... But I think we all know we have a better chance of winning the SEC next year than hiring either of those guys.

How smart is it, at this point to enter into another 5 yr deal w/ a buyout for another no name? I really think recruiting has taken the hit already, because there are no other name coaches left. So maybe a 1 yr deal for chaney may be smartest thing at this point. IDK anymore. Just no good end to this.

Folks dont realize either that there are almost no "official" offers made because you dont want your hire to think he was your last choice.....not to mention the fanbase. Strong likely rounded out our top 5 but he is the only guy who got an "official" that wasnt denied by tn. That doesnt mean we didnt offer to others too, just not "officially."
