Most will acknowledge that Rettig will be a stud, but is unlikely to address our near term issues. That's fine.

Assuming Scroggins is out....
I would like to sign Lamaison for '09, Rettig and Grayson for '10, then a top stud for '11.
That should pretty much get us back to where we need to be QB-wise.
I like JuCo and Rettig/Scroggins
I just want Scroggins to have announced to see what we need. I think he would help recruiting more but we can always go JUCO, etc. I just want the QB right now that helps get the great football players in here and get the pipeline going. If Rettig can do that then it is fine with me.
Yup, that's why I like JuCo & Scroggins. Heard that guy will pull a lot of weight. But Rettig looks good too. We will see. I'm with you... really wanting to know, but waiting is the name of the game with a lot of these guys as they are obviously making the best decision for their selves. It seems Scroggins is all UT but there is a huge deduction from his interest as his family won't be able to see him play nearly as much due to traveling so much. Brings up a good point. Is College the time for the family to let these kids go be men and play where it makes most sense to them? Hard decision for him, but would love to have him.

I dont think any of the recruiters or evaluators are expecting Rettig to be a "stud". By all accounts he has a lot of mechanic and fundamentals to work. He surely has a great arm....but he is unrated and only has 2 scholly offers for a reason. A good SR year on a team that finally doesnt suck could cause his stock to soar, though.
Yeah I think the two scholarships are telling and that we are in a fight with BC for a kid....lol:
What bothers me more than that is that it took the staff so long to offer him. I could care less what other schools have offered or what his "rating" is, as long as this staff believes he can win big time games for us. The fact that it took a dire situation for us to offer him makes me think the staff doesnt see him ever really having starter potential. I hope he commits, has a blow out SR year and proves everyone wrong! Cant deny his arm strength....if he learns to reign it in he could be one of the best in the country when its all said and done.
