I'm not surprised at all. Actually I expected Bama to struggle. Classic sandwich game. Bama isn't nearly as good as they looked against Florida just like the Gators aren't that bad.

Don't get me wrong. Alabama is good. They can definitely beat us. And badly if we don't play well.

Gotta hand it to the Alabama defense. They made the big plays when they had to. If their defense had let up any, the Tide loses this one.

Or if Ole Miss didn't shoot themselves in the foot. Oh wait, that's exactly what happened.

I have to say, though, while Bama looked especially flat (which I totally expected), it took poise to come back on that last drive. Brodie made it look easy and they were calm and collected. That would not have happend last year.

Good teams can still struggle. (Alabama beat MSU and SMU by 7 our last NC year, and LA Tech 13-0). All that matters is that the outcome is a W. I also fully expect Bama to come out stronger next week and for this to be one hell of a game.

I expected them to come out flat too. What I didn't expect was the way Ole Miss was able to consistently stop the run.

Why is Ed such a dumbass? They should have had Spurlock rolling out and in shotgun...they let him sit in the pocket and suck...

Even worse I think was the way Ed screwed up the clock management at the end. I know I'm second guessing, but I really think he should have run the ball 3 times on his last possession and ran the clock down so he could get to overtime and take his chances. There was just no way that Spurlock was going to execute a 2 minute drill.

I think it has the potential to turn out just like that 1990 field goal game :snoring:

9-6...GOD, why did you have to remind me of that game. Of all the games I've seen UT lose to Bama, that had to be one of the worst.

That game epitomized Johnny Ball at it's finest.

Careful or you'll start another "wish Johnny was here instead of Phil" thread.

I agree, that's the best example of playing not to lose I've ever seen.

With our FG troubles this season I hope it doesn't come down to that.
