Are you nervous about the Florida game?

I know that CJ is worried about which signal guy to look at so he can steal the plays.

na all i know is that we are going to go into gainsville and play solid off/def and beat he piss out of the whole urban meyer offensive stratagy. one thing i know is that the "option" will not get it done in the SEC. there is to much speed and chris leak is slow as christmas...

I don't have any respect for his "in game" instincts, coaching on the fly abilities, talent to feel the game like the OC's of really good teams.[ college or pro]

Yes I'm nervous. I'm nervous anytime we go on the road playing a top 10 team. A little bit is healthy, it helps focus, not that I'm suiting up, but whatever...

I'm nervous that our receivers will drop balls, players will get injured, they'll scheme us out of an effective pass rush and Chris Leak will bust out a career game, they'll run a kick or punt back, Clausen and Ainge will both play like Ainge did against UAB. There's a million things that could go wrong.

That being said, I'm confident that our preparation has been excellent, our players have plenty of motivation and confidence, and Meyer won't have what it takes in his first game against a top 10 opponent and succomb to the pressure (whether obvious to us or not).

As much as I hate admitting to being nervous, it makes the relief and joy of victory that much better.

I hope RS uses that ploy getting to the line early calling a couple of hut-huts then backing up and calling the play. It forces them to show the 8 n box. You know it could make quick runs up the middle possible when their def gets lazy late.

I agree. It's not like we have ever won anything with him.

No SEC East Titles, big game wins against UGA/UF, or anything along those lines

I'm just making sure here, but you can't possibly be talking about RS when you say that. i'm probably wrong and you are talking about somebody else but just in case you are talking about sanders, apparently you dont remember winning the East last year? or beating UF/UGA last year or Miami?? or the 1999 Fiesta Bowl for the NC??

I'm sorry for being so confused but what is OC? Like bloody orange said, does OC mean Randy Sanders? Anyway, I'm not nervous about the game. I believe this game will be won or lost in the trenches. If our D front and linebackers can do the job against Leak and rattle his cage to the point where the Urban cowboy has to put in his option boy Portis, the chess match turns in our favor. I believe our offense will be just fine against the Gator D.

Yeah, I'm nervous.

Historically, we havent played well against option teams (KSU, Nebraska).

The other reason is, are pass defense was suspect last year, and Florida is a pretty good passing team.

Even though we have a great run defense, I'm not sure they will handle the option the way Meyer runs it, which is different then what they have ever seen.

Remember though that a Meyer offense hasn't seen a defense as fast and hard hitting as Tennessee's.

I'm not really nervous. The Vols have done quite well at Florida and on the road against ranked opponents the past few seasons.....

last season big road wins.... Tennessee 19-14 over #3 Georgia.... 2003 big road wins.... Tennessee 24-10 over #17 Florida.... Tennessee 10-6 over #6 Miami breaking Canes' 26-game home win streak... at Florida in 2001, Tennessee 34-32 over #2 Gators

By my count that's 9-3 against being nervous about the Florida game.

To the three that admitted they were: Good for you for being objective and honest.

To the other nine: There is a difference between rooting and blind loyalty. Read the posts of the three that know this difference and learn.

Of course you should be nervous!! Florida is good. Maybe you will be better. But to not be nervous and to not recognize the distinct possibility that UT might lose is just silly.
