When is that game not a hornet's nest?
true, true.....i think it's because the bama faithful "believe" again....they're ready, they've put their money where thier mouth is.....i know they always expect a lot, but for some reason, i just get the sense that the expectation now has some teeth to it.

I don't know, Saban is proven at LSU, but under that same logic Les Miles is a great coach.

Big season for Rocky Top. Wins against Oscar Meyer, PRicht, Satan, and Sorrier. In that order.

Many of us discounted Urban Meyer's ability to come into the SEC and win at a school with great resources.

Now with Saban we have another talented coach coming into a school with great resources that has proven he can win in the SEC.

Hard for me not to believe he will be successful.:cray:

Saban is probably a better coach than anyone Bama has has since Stallings; however, my thoughts on Bama's chances of a turnaround have more to do with the fact that they are now off probation (as of Feb. '07 I think) and the fans/boosters are motivated and excited. I expect to see some facility improvements and a lot of buzz surrounding their program for the next couple of years.

Does anyone really believe that Phil will rise to the challenge? Has he ever done that in his career? Bama hiring Saban is a death sentence for Fulmer at Tennessee. Phil was never known as a great coach and now he goes head to head with Steve, Urban, Mark, and Nick? Put a fork in him he's done.

That's what I'm drinking...I hope and believe this will be a great year for Phil and the Vols. The SEC has incredible coaches and Slick Nick is just one among others. His presence will only make the SEC stronger and these other coaches will rise to the competition...they certainly are not going to roll over because Nick is back. I think Spurrier and Meyer will have great years...as well as Miles and Richt. Bring it on, if Fulmer can't deliver this year, I would agree it will be time to look for a new coach. But for now, GO VOLS and pass the OJ...that is my beverage of choice!!!

Given the personalities involved, Finebaum/Saban seems doomed from the start.
