Is this kid talented or was it just his night? Should he get some more snaps? I want to see that kid play again.

Against a defense like Alabama, I don't think it was a fluke. That kid showed some good stuff.

That's what I was thinking. So, does he get more snaps. I say hell yeah. What do we have to lose?

He sure was trying hard. Getting those extra yards & etc. We may have someone here with actual desire.

I thought he looked good....He should have carried it more than Riggs last night....He ran harder with more authority than Riggs did.....If he's our starter I'm looking forward to South Carolina game this weekend

I was so impressed. He fought for those extra yards that got us the first down.

Trooper Taylor has said that he's the best tail back we've got he's just had trouble picking up the blocking assignments.....He looked good last night, our future at tail back is looking great.

I wish we could get a preview of Crompton for next year.....Mark it down, he'll be our guy next year

foster looked great he should get alot more carries with riggs being banged up. he looks to be our back of the future.

Like I have been saying, He is the next great running back in UT.

Yeah his running style was awesome. I think he is going to be a more traditional UT running back unlike riggs.

I've liked the guys chances since the spring. He just turned it up a notch last night, great spin move and ability to make the first man miss. A fresh look and set of legs, with Riggs being bent up, id like to see Foster carry atleast 20, on the Roosters.

I agree with that.

Just cant see how anyone believes Ainge who can't beat out Clausen who has a average arm, will beat out Crompton who has a stronger Arm then Ainge has. I just dont see that happening.

Mark it, Foster is the real deal, he showed balance, drive, ingenuity, east-west vision, creativity and toughness. We haven't had this kind of talent since, well, I don't know who he reminds me of as a past Vol.

Pass coverage he'll pick up...hopefully soon.

We ought to be going with Foster the rest of way, get him ready for next year.....i would say the same for Ainge except i dont think he's gonna be the man

The coaches actually liked Hardesty more than Foster. Mostly because of fumbling problems. If Foster can hold on to the ball and Hardesty can recover from his injury then we could have a great one,two punch next year. Now do the coaches pull the redshirt off of Coker? I hope not, but with Riggs banged up and Hardesty out for the season, it looks like we only have Foster and Yancy. If we could get good QB and WR play then maybe we could pull this offense out of its slump. Now is the time to play Ainge. I have as much confidence in him as I do Clausen. :td:

No, he needs to grow up and with this season in a mediocre mode, Coker could use a wake up call. Ja' Willimas is a possibility as is <sigh> Anderson in a huge pinch.

I hope Trooper was trying to promote competition since his statements that Yancey was the first Go To guy has become another farce form this 2005 season.

I think Coker has back problems. Williams is a scatback and I'm afraid our guards have gotten a little too weight challenged to pull for the outside sweeps(Did anyone see the Auburn guards pulling out and blocking against LSU). Foster ran hard and tough against a Bama D that knew we were going to run up the middle and had 8 stacked against it. He will be a STUD if he doesn't get injured. How is his hands in passcatching?

Foster is good at slipping tackles and getting a few extra yards that Riggs, with his ploughorse style, normally doesn't get. That said, I saw some wiggle from Riggs yesterday and I thought both he and Foster ran the ball pretty well.

The question with Foster is, does he have a burst; can he be a breakaway back? It's nice to get 7 yards instead of 5--but the Vols need some breakaway threats at RB and WR. The offense is getting very mediocre QB play and has no playmakers at RB or WR. Combine those two problems with RS's issues--questionable organizational and decision-making skills--and we see the result. :matrix:

You make a good point about the guards--they are too heavy to be effective at pulling out and blocking. They lumber.

Foster has good body lean and great leg drive. He hits the hole and goes for it. His leg drive looks like William Howard, and Charles Wilson. Foster should start this weekend. I would work on the fumble issue this week if he has one like some have stated. I watched Coker play in high school, has good speed and good moves, didn't know about the back problem. Could someone give more information on that.
