Arian Foster

Let you not forget that Foster had a fumble in the game. Our O-line was lucky to pick it up. I agree he looked better I just got to worry about these RBs b/c everyone of them had a fumble in the game. Once again, I think that this poor execution stems from poor coaching. I believe that we are 105th in rushing offense this year (unacceptable). I know that our passing game hurts the run. If things don't improve, then we need to clean house and start over.

Foster has good body lean and great leg drive. He hits the hole and goes for it. His leg drive looks like William Howard, and Charles Wilson. Foster should start this weekend. I would work on the fumble issue this week if he has one like some have stated. I watched Coker play in high school, has good speed and good moves, didn't know about the back problem. Could someone give more information on that.

Im thinking it started with a deep bruise and lead to spasms from back into the late spring. Also, his ball control, and blocking may be in question still? With Hardesty out (redshirt), Riggs pending, who knows?

Foster reminds me a great deal of Ronnie Brown (Auburn). I think he has the ability set some records at UT.

Riggs might be dinged up but to me there was no comparison between the two backs on Saturday. Foster didn't fall down if somebody touched him and was continually making extra yardage by keeping his legs pumping and refusing to go down. He looked every bit as good as Cadillac or Brown. I still don't know why we didn't use him on 4th down short yardage. If the Bama line can't stop him, few will.

I wish we could get a preview of Crompton for next year.....Mark it down, he'll be our guy next year

Are you gonna change your name if he's the guy?

id say that he could be the real deal, when riggs is gone...

he is so strong... did you see the way he pounded for that first against alabama. all the fans were all like "damn!" "he's a hause". those were the bama fans that were saying that also...

If I remember correctly, he arrived late during the preseason last season and redshirted. The reports at practice that I heard was he was the best running back during practices last year..... and that's with the Vols have two 1000-yd running backs. I was surprised that he has not been the solid # 2 back behind Riggs this season and that he has not seen more playing time.

Not learning the blocking scheme argument sounds like the same thing the coaching staff said in 1997 when they did not play Jamal Lewis to start the season.

I agree with that.

Just cant see how anyone believes Ainge who can't beat out Clausen who has a average arm, will beat out Crompton who has a stronger Arm then Ainge has.  I just dont see that happening.

What has Crompton done as a College player to prove he is "the man"? He didn't even look that great in the Army game. I hope he does come in and light it up, but all of this praise in premature IMO.

That kid could run the dang ball. He had the strength to get the first down, and he showed some speed around the end. He may be they next great Tennessee back...but i also thought that about Riggs a few years back....

He's a Brown-Cadillac combo, traits of each.

Now with Riggs out, we're going to get a healthy dose of Arian Foster. I'm not implying that I'm glad that Riggs is out, but I'm excited to see what Foster will do with many carries.

Against bama's rush defense, he looked powerful and quick. Most importantly, he had the desire to fight for first downs.

I hope that he makes the most of this great opportunity that has opened up for him. It's been a while since we've had a young back come in and do some damage. Nothing would help this offense like Foster coming in and having a break out game. I realize that he's had quite a bit of playing time, but not enough to get into a full rhythm.

Fulmer also said that Coker is in the mix now along with Yancey. We'll see what these young guys are made of.

The Foster kidd is gonna be good! Some of our best tacklers hit him and normally they bring RB's down. He's a tough back. Is he a freshman?

Foster is a redshirt freshman.

Finally, someone with a rational view of next years QB situation. I will continue to say that I hope Crompton develops into a stud QB at UTK. But, he is two years behind Ainge and doesn't have an advantage in terms of physical attributes. If anything, Ainge has better pure "physical attritubutes" than Crompton.

Is this kid talented or was it just his night?  Should he get some more snaps?  I want to see that kid play again.

He's garbage. He got lucky against Alabama and won't rush for more than 50 yards in a game against Florida. Oh, I'm sorry I was expressing my hopes out loud. To be honest, he looks pretty dang good. That's the kind of runner you need against tough SEC defenses. :superman:

This is the only thing that worries me about Foster right now.....

Foster said he's made vast improvements since being criticized by UT's coaches for carrying the ball away from his body, which limited his play.

He sure was trying hard. Getting those extra yards & etc. We may have someone here with actual desire.

I don't know which team you have been watching but the team as a whole has desire. Not winning does not mean lack of desire.

Yeah. Look Clausen is starting because stupid Fulmer wants him to start. Fulmer has done Ainge wrong all year. I'm glad you've seen Crompton play in the SEC, because I haven't. He hasn't played a down and people think he automatically starts. I don't think so. Ainge starts next year. I'll put money on that.

Well, on a good note I think. Arian Foster had some good runs. A little more development, ball handling. Yup, I think he is the future from here on out.

Agreed. Take away that fumble and make it a Touchdown and I would say that Foster had a great night. He still impressed me. It was refreshing to see a back getting some yards. He was a tackle away from breaking a couple off for big runs. If only he had a passing game to help him out.
