A 2nd burglary in two weeks?

It was rumored he was dismissed from Georgia from stealing from teammates.

The top rated TE in his class forgoes millions and millions of dollars in the NFL by becoming a petty theif?

Sounds mentally ill.

We need to lock him up as a society because he can't keep doing this crap every couple of months and still walk the streets.

The problem is that jail will only be a "training camp" where he learns better burglary techniques, gains friends in the business, and possibly is recruited into a more sophisticated gang of thieves. Statistically, it's a tough road from here that either gets him killed by the lifestyle, killed by the police, or locked up for half his life.

Very sad. I wish I had an answer that was more easily acceptable for him than "You need Jesus" but Arik, You need Jesus.

I think he's got serious underlying mental health issues from what I've heard more than this being a character thing. He came from a good family and had a good upbringing by most accounts and this all presented very acutely. At his age that usually means schizophrenia or bipolar or something like that. Not that he isn't responsible for what he is doing, he is, it's just that I think this situation is much more tragic and sad than if he was just a POS who didn't know how to act.

Agreed, but mental health treatment beyond throwing pills at problems is grossly underfunded and sucks in America and sucks even worse for criminal offenders.

We've got to get him off the streets and he'll get next to no treatment beyond "swallow this" in prison, if even that. If the usual pattern holds, once released he'll stop taking meds...... rinse and repeat.

You're not wrong at all, I'm just saying this is a more tragic situation than your run of the mill character costs dude a career scenario that we've all seen before.

We've all seen this before. Whether it's an underlying mental illness, or just an idiot who's wasting good oxygen, it almost always ends the same way: Prison or an untimely death.

He needs to be properly and professionally evaluated, and then either treated, or incarcerated. Whichever is best suited to address his issues.

I have no opinion as to the cause of his misbehavior, but it is going to get him, or someone else, hurt or killed unless it's stopped.

I'll leave it to all the Psychologists, Clairvoyants, and Vigilantes on VN to sort it all out...

Ball game I'm really interested in at 7:00 pm this date. Arik Gilbert? Not so much.

Go Vols.

You can come from a good family and still commit criminal acts.
