Arion Carter out for the season

This is why you have to successfully recruit multiple 4* and 5* players at every position each recruiting cycle. Winning usually helps with that.
Hey @sjt18 wanna chime in here with your usual word salad and ridiculous opinions about recruiting rankings?

By the way, I completely agree with you.

Once the emotions of yesterday's game settle down, I think we will understand AC's absence played a huge roll in our defensive scheme and inability to be competitive against the ground game.
I believe you are correct. We were one step late against their RB all day.

Agree, thought it jumped off the screen just how slow 44 was.
Totally with you. I’m sure he’s a great kid but could not afford to be out of position by an inch. Was shocking as he’s had some good playing time. Bad match up?

Think it stood out even more because of the angles he was taking. They were bad every single time it seemed like.

Not so much. He’ll be great in the future, but Herring bit on every motion and fake and MacDonald wasn’t in to call the secondary. Add the long list of injuries, inexperience, and lack of depth and you get a disaster. We did not have the right bodies or brains on the team we fielded. Carter is a rocket, but pre injury, he was freelancing out there. Might’ve made a tackle or two, but he wasn’t going to win the game.

Not a great take. Front four played fine most of the game until they were completely exhausted. LBers couldn’t contain #7 or the QB when he decided to run on crucial downs.
They grinded our defense down in the first half. They pretty much had the ball for the entire first quarter. We were gassed in the 2nd half because of our inability to get off the field.

Had nice pressure a few times and lost contain on QB run.

Usually on third and long as well.

Does any one other than me think the rash of shoulder injuries we see on UT and even other schools could be from the use of these smaller shoulder pads they wear now vs back 15-20 years ago ? I just don't remember that many injuries in the past and if there were it was from a highlight hit.

Tennessee freshman linebacker Arion Carter is out for the season with a shoulder injury, Knox News confirmed Sunday. Carter, a former four-star prospect from Smyrna, missed the past two games after suffering the injury in UT’s 33-27 win over Kentucky on Oct. 28. He did not travel with the team for its 36-7 loss to Missouri on Saturday. Carter had carved out a role in UT’s linebacker rotation as an inexperienced but athletically gifted freshman. He had 17 tackles, one tackle-for-loss and one pass breakup in eight games.

We are so banged up. We need to realize that before melting down

I think it’s probably more to do with the game being faster and stronger than ever

What about them? He's a good football player. Losing him is unfortunate. This doesn't prove anything you've ever claimed or disprove what I've said.

BTW... Mizzou's 3* QB starting in front of two 4* QBs and their 0* RB starting in front of a couple of 3* and a 4*... provide just more proof that you are 1000% wrong.

Oh, UT's 3* Fr Telander... actually has more tackles in less games played than Carter. Not saying he's better... but his 3* rating hasn't kept him from making a strong contribution... which of course wouldn't be possible if yoiu were right.

He needs to start bulking up for a move to DL next year. You cannot be effective at LB in the SEC with his speed and agility limitations.
I was thinking the same. His frame looks like he could carry another 20 to 30lbs or so easily and be effective as another DE/edge guy. I think he’s listed at 240 now. Sucks about Carter. He was getting some good experience for the future.

Think Pili returns?
