Well Arkansas' is caught in another coaching quandry.
First it was the BBall program.
We're getting Bill Self, Billy Gillespie....
Then Dana Altman leaves them at the alter, and they get John Pelphery

Now they buyout Nutt's contract to the tune of $3.6MM.
Then it's were getting Butch Davis, Tommy Tuberville, Terry Bowden.....

Butch signs and extension with NC, TT stays at Auburn, and Bowden leverages Arkansas offer into a raise and an extension at Clemson.

I believe the whole state is ready to implode

In a couple years, everyone around here is going to regret ever running Houston Nutt out of town.

There's talk of them going after Malzahn at Tulsa... if that's the case, mark it on my calendar, Oct. 25: Ole Miss at Arkansas.

Arkansas will soon learn that it's better to play for 3rd in the west than for 5th in the west.

Nutt was about the best they could ask for.

Maybe one of the Waltons would take a pay cut to come down from their ivory tower in Bentonville...they probably couldn't coach worth a flip, but the concessions at the football stadium would be a lot cheaper.

Had Butch Davis waited one more year, he'd be at his alma mater instead of being stuck in the ACC. Had Arkansas landed him, things would be different. Now, they'll probably end up like the basketball team and settle for Plan B or C.

You mean when Houston Nutt coaches the Rebels to a 35 point thrashing of the Razorbacks?

If I were Broyles, I would call Chris Hatcher and be done with all of this. At this point it isn't going to get any better.

Hatcher could be a great D-1 coach.

But if the basketball coach search was anything to go by, Broyles has Butch Davis, Pete Carroll, Jimmy Johnson and Bob Stoops as frontrunners with noone to fill in if they turn down the job opportunity.

We'll they may have moved onto coordinators.

They've interviewed:
Ron English- Michigan
Gus Malzhan- Tulsa
Charlie Strong- Florida
Reggie Herring- current D coordinator

I can't think of anything I'd rather see than Malzahn getting the job and dropping the GTFO hammer on Herring.

whomever they hire better get ready to hear because they are going to have the worst team in the West next season.

Gus Malzahn will have ascended the coaching ranks in absolute record time.....

high school coach 2005, OC at Arkansas 2006, OC at Tulsa 2007, Head Coach Arkansas 2008.

good.

god.

Surely they don't actually hire Malzahn. Although at this point, why not? I guess. Arkansas is learning how bad it is to fire your HC if you don't have a plan of action, and over estimated your worth.

Grobe left 'em high and dry. I don't even think he made it into the State.

At least Dana Altman, made it too Bud Walton, and then quit

Really looks like Houston nutted on them again. Used Neb as a stalking horse a couple of years ago to jack up his price and has now left them in the lurch in a tough year to hire a coach.

jimmy sexton is the one making a killing in this fiasco
he made money with hoston leaving and every time he brings a coach ro Long and they negotiate a raise or an extension for the coach to stay at his school he makes a little more

I have some guys at work who are Arkansas fans. They don't even like for me to ask who the coach is going to be  apparently it's already a sore subject
