Being better than Fulmer means absolutely jack and you know it.

The real problem for Petrino is that Farragut Jr High has 3 players on the depth chart that would be no brainer starters over Dick. Jones and McFadden are done. Oops, he could be the second coming of Vince Lombardi and Arky would still finish 5th in the West next year.

You must have been so proud at how ridiculous your program looked the other night at that press conference. How did it feel to be a laughingstock, to hear guys making fun of you on Sportscenter?

Petrino is better than Fulmer at exactly one thing: X's and O's on the offensive side of the football. In every other aspect of the game, I'll take Fulmer. Petrino's teams are going to have to figure out how to play at least some defense, or he's going to get buried in the SEC.

I'd rather lose games than have a piece of trash like Bobby Petrino represent my alma mater.

I'm sure I'd be more mercenary about it if it wasn't my school. To me, UT is "we" a heck of a lot more than any of the other teams I support. I'm just the Braves' and Falcons' customers, for example, but Tennessee is family. I care about how the university is represented.

(Which is not to say that being a nice guy and representing the university well is enough; it's not. You've got to win too.)
