I'm pretty much sold on Faber-Castell Polychromos. They are oil based and you can layer forever with them. I don't do any blending techniques, just layer upon layer to create depth. I also don't use the Black color pencil, preferring the richness of combining other colors to create shadows etc.

They sound pretty impressive from what you're saying. I'm starting to branch out to other mediums, and that my sway my purchase in the future.

My daughter graduates Wednesday with a Master of Science in Biomedical Communication degree from the University of Toronto. In my day they called it Medical Illustration, but things change. Anyway, this was her first project - Fall 2017. The skull was rendered using the old school "carbon dust" technique, then scanned into Adobe Illustrator for type and layout.

I couldn't have done that to save my life. lol
I know what you mean LeBleu. I don't have that gift either. However, my daughter's BFA Exhibition was based on drawings and Printmaking to support narratives she had written. We also live right down the road from The National Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, Tn, so my appreciation of this art form is constantly reinforced.

thanks I never thought I could do it either. I've written a pile of screenplays but never a novel. Once I got into it though it started to really flow. Sometimes I wish I had made it longer, expanded some things but in the end I think it's what it wants to be. Excited to start another one early next year.

definitely interesting, What were you supposed to learn from the assignment? I didn't go to art school or take classes. I've been trying to sponge peoples brains lately that have had training. lol
