ART/CREATIVE THREAD ( all skill levels welcome )

After a lot of toil and tragedy my second novel The Alternator is now live on Amazon:

amazing cover by @LeBleu

slugline:
What if murder wasn't a mystery? For one young man, it is always decided by a simple code of chance taught to him by his mentor, a gruff truck driver named Petty who once took him under his wing. Now a trucker himself, the map savant travels the quickest routes coast to coast through 1990s America listening to the Top 40 countdown and holding the fate of those he encounters in the palm of his hand. Are the rules there to allow the natural order to assert itself or to keep a traumatic past from feeding his dark impulses and spiraling him out of control?

All profits will go to Young-Williams Animal Shelter in honor of my late wife.

@LucidZ What medium is that?

Both of them are digital. Unfortunately, the only two I have right now. My old computer died and I've yet to recover the harddrive. These were the only two I had saved on a google drive. They are both kinda old, haven't done much lately. Biggest hurdle for me is just starting something. When I look back at that second image, I can tell I got a little happy with smudging. I screwed her ear up doing that, bit of the jawline, the fabric on her shoulder, and a bit of the nose around the nostril area.

I used to do everything by hand but then started to learn how to do it digitally by watching others. Learning from their techniques and how to use the tools being provided. Mostly do portraits and mostly women as subjects. In the second one I was inspired by some paintings I saw someone do for a mod of a video game. For the game Shogun 2 specifically. And I wanted to my own take on the portraits for the families. Though his look more like this:

I really like your work, btw. I loved that samurai and Frankenstein. Just amazing.

Thanks I appreciate that, yeah I thought they were digital, but I didn't notice any brush opacity marks or anything. They look good though! I've not used the smudge tool yet, or warp tool for adjustments. I'm not cool enough yet for that. lol

Nice, I've been planning to post in here too. lol My thumb has been bothering me though. Got some nice color blends back there. Is this color pencil?

Yes. Color pencil. I’ve been away. Cancer found me (Esophogeal Cancer), so I’ve had quite a battle what with radiation and chemo therapy, then surgery and now immunotherapy.
