I guess that would depend on your definition of being mediocre. I don’t consider CPF as being a mediocre coach. I consider him being a very good coach. Now, if we have another losing season or if I see us regress again I will then have problems. But I am the kind of person who after taking a man at his word and the man follows through I have no option but to respect him and give him the benefit of the doubt. Until proven otherwise. We have a marked turn around both on the field and off. We are currently #4 in recruiting for next year and are in a New Years day bowl. That sir is not medicre IMHO.

Some one please correct me where I’m wrong.

Well if this class shapes up like its looking too, those players should be ready in a year or two. Plus Crompton ought to be ready!

OK, who would you like to get to replace CPF? Remember what Nebraska has gone through with a new coach and pholosphy....

I need one in 2007 or 2008, period. I'm already on the dadgum fence, will be halfway over after 2007 if we don't win it, and in the dirt after 2008.

If he wins his 3rd in 2007, it'll be 3 in 15 years, or 1 in 5. That sounds realistic to me. I always feel like a team should play in a conference title once every 3 years in the SEC East and win 1 of the 2 appearances every 6 years, AT A MINIMUM.

Let's say CPF and UT have an 8-4 season in 2007 and a 8-4 season in 2008. The WORST reason to NOT fire is because you don't feel you can find someone else.

would like 1 or two more per 15 years personnally, but your math is right....figuring GA and FL will win the other years....

if we go 8-4 in those two seasons...he should be fired. i really think those two years will be the next best chance for us to make a real title run, both SEC and National....

If that happens, I totally agree..It would be interesting, in light of the 'Bama mess to see what direction Tenn would go..

Yeah, more than 3 in 15 is something I would like as well, and I wouldn't feel bad for expecting more than 3. Realistically and fairly to any coach in the SEC, I guess 1 every 5-6 years should be the minimum goal.

yea, thats where i was goin, zona. i'd like to see one every 3, at least one every 5. i think that is very realistic, especially as well as he recruits-but we all know those 'recruiting experts' are hardly right. good stuff fellas. sound like rational vols here. lol

Go look at the SEC Champions in the last 15 years. There is only one school that meets your criteria.

It doesn't mean it's unattainable. When LSU and Georgia were unable to reach that goal, they got new coaches.
