I believe he understands the expectations of the UT fan base and believes he can live up to those expectations, so, let's give him a chance, support him, and see what happens. If he succeeds, he will probably be around quite a while.

Darn, I shouldn't have put "read" in the thread title. Obvious people don't want to take time to read a completely objective article, that is 100% not associated with this job search.

In watching video on him .... I like his High octane approach to things


Plus it's been mentioned THIS IS THE JOB HE WANTED...

He wants to be here .. He wants to prove we can still WIN

I think we are getting a good coach that will help us take a big step over the Dooley

This is a link to an SI article back when Jones took Cinci job. Everyone should read it. This guy eats and breathes football.
More importantly, every naysayer needs to read this and shut their cake hole.

This guy understands what it takes to build and maintain a football culture.

I fully expect him to succeed. He has been successful at every stop, and he has never had resources like what he is about to walk into. And his personality is a great fit with this fan base.

Burn me once shame on you,burn me twice shame on me,the third time it will be hard for me to trust any one making decisions on the hill.30 years of unquestioned loyalty,these past five years is as bad of a dismantling of a program with out the death penalty as I have ever seen.I hope and pray we is a home run but I shall hold my breath and hope I don't become a Nega Vol.gbo

I believe he is a better hire than Strong, and I believe he will be successful. Winning cures a lot of ills. Too many fans looking for the splashy hire to make them feel better. I would be more interested in what the players and recruits think about him.

I hope he assemblies a quality staff, and hope CJG and CSP at least are given a fair chance to become part of the staff.

Go Vols !!!

Did it ever occur to some of you that fans are tired of giving people not qualified for the job a fair chance. We continue to sign rejects that are bottom of the list coaches. The AD is not giving the football program a fair chance to succeed so don't expect me to either.

I hope he puts a top notch staff together, starting with a Kevin Steele-type defensive coordinator. Then go get some commits from a couple of 5* recruits and a dozen 4 *s.

Jones is my coach until he's not. Go Big Orange

But also I totally supported the last two hires and voted for Romney so we might be in good shape for my choices the last few years has been on the wrong side.GBO

I have a feeling that for most of you morons, the University could have hired a dead cat and you would be on your knees talking about what a great hire it was.

Ill admit i was on board the gruden train, and had my doubts when i first heard about jones but this article and the video already posted are helping sway me. This guy has potential time will tell but i like the fact that his players actually play for him and i feel thats something weve been missing for a while
