Frankly we don't belong in the NCAA tourney. NIT is probably more what we deserve but it is a 2nd rate tourney.

1 and done in the NCAA is the best we can hope for I guess. We won't beat anyone in the NCAA this year.

One and done in the NCAAs is better than winning the NIT

No one cares about the NIT, including the players. Exhibit A: last year's performance in the first round vs. Middle Tennessee.

If having a trophy is important then go down to Dick's Sporting Goods and order one. End thread.

MTSU game was an NIT 2nd rounder last year I believe.

I'll answer this by asking this:

Who won the NIT last year?

Exactly.

I'd rather go to the big dance and get beat by a team that accomplished something than be a leftover who either gets embarrassed by a nobody, or who wins it, and thinks what could have been.

I'd rather lose 100-0 in the NCAAT than to destroy every team and win the NIT.

Seriously, why does this come up every year? As pointed out, that's like saying you'd rather go to the Music City Bowl because you'd play a weaker team and probably win, than to go to a BCS bowl and possibly get blown out.

I seriously don't get why this concept is so hard. I'd be fine with an NIT bid if we were barely over .500, but if you have a shot at the real deal, why in the world would you not want it.

Put it this way....ask Coach Martin which he'd take. He'd probably slap you for such a stupid question.

Wow.

I think Arsenal football club really regrets losing their League Cup final in 2010.

In all honesty, Vanderbilt have a legit basketball trophy, and we don't. Would rather have a shot at winning a trophy.

And that trophy is worth less than the NCAA appearance.

No they don't. And by your definition we should be envious of South Carolina.

The NIT is crap, PERIOD!!!

Any season that doesn't result in a NCAA tourney bid is a failure, plain and simple.

Even if the NCAA was off the table, I'd just as soon turn down an NIT invite. Remember when Memphis won the NIT several years ago? See, nobody cares.

That's my thought as well.If we don't make the dance,I would love to see us decline the NIT.Send our players a message!
