BAD ILL TIMED QUESTION, NOT AN INTENTIONAL BATE QUESTION-Teacherdean

I say no because we have a lot of work ahead of us to reach that point. Based upon games I have seen, if the tournament started today these teams would make the final four ahead of LV:

1. UCONN
2. USC
3. Baylor
4. Maryland
5. Ohio State
6. Texas?

I think that there are other teams that if they played the Lady Vols today, they would give them a run for their money. These teams are:
1. UCLA
2. Mississippi State
3. Oregon State
4. Texas A&M

We do have room for improvement and the West coast trip will give us some idea of where our program is. If we can take out Stanford and Oregon State, it would give our ladies a ton of convince. I want to see Russell go against the big girl from Oregon State. She will have to play better than she played against the tall girls from Texas.

stupidest question ever, and pointless! we have graves, carter, and Reynolds that are used to playing, and doing so together! Wow, hardly the the team we will have by the end of the year, when is the only time a final 4 team matters. other than those THREE players, the rest of the team has either ridden the bench 90% of the time, sat out at least a year, or are the two freshman. Give it a rest already, last time Tennessee was so lacking of team playing time and mileage was the Baby Vols, how well did Pat coach them huh?

I can see why this question is raising some ire. December is a LONG way from March. Thinking back a few seasons, no one would have predicted in December that Louisville would defeat the mighty Griner-led Baylor in route to a final four appearance. Sleeper teams emerge, favorites fizzle. I think the LVs have as good a chance as any of coming together for a strong tournament run. As pointed out, there are a lot of new pieces to the puzzle that are being integrated. No need for a rush to judgment; time will tell...

We found something we can build on last night if Holly will follow the right path with this team. Get them out of thinking mode and into playing mode.

Why do we have to stoop to name calling and thinking we know it all? Good Lord, I did not mean to raise your inter rage. This was not an indictment of the Lady Vols and trying to say they are so bad that they never will be in the final four. It was not an indictment of Holly's coaching. Why do idiots always have to bring Pat into the conversation? This question is not a measurement of Pat's coaching abilities vs. Holly's. That is one of the most idiotic ideologies you can bring up. News flash, Pat is no longer at the helm. Give the comparison B.S. a rest. PAT WAS NOT PERFECT!!!!!!!! An evaluation of my question was a bit over the top, please forgive me pollsters, I guess I had a brain fart. Thanks to all of the intelligent pollsters who are right my question is way to early. I, like some people, do not have a problem admitting I made a mistake.

I still would like the team to have a good West coast trip. I still think that Russell has to get more aggressive in the paint or she will get eaten alive by some of the better post. She had a great foundation to work from.

Shoe-in to be named champs at season end. UConn doesn't stand a chance to beat us especially when we can outcoach them.

Wait, Pat wasn't perfect.... Nobody is. :disappointed:
We'll only get better. Last night was a peek...:compute:
Holly had to use a little psychology on their little butts, and to let Diamond loose. :yahoo:

GO LADY VOLS!

I don't expect that to happen, however, DePaul played UCONN a hell of a game with three and one or two star players. They just have way too much firepower. They may have the best women's basketball coach on the planet. He certainly is a great recruiter, no matter how he gets it done.
Samuelson seems primed to be a superstar along with Collier and several more. It might take two to four years to stop UCONN's run on National Championships. Baylor is building a monster in Waco. The Lady Bears may be the next program to challenge UCONN with what Mulkey is putting together.

I have heard sportscasters compare UCONN to men's teams, but that is unrealistic to believe they could come close to beating any good, not great, men's basketball team. They are simply a great women's team, nothing more and nothing less.

Right now we are not even an elite eight team but this team has a lot of growth potential by March. The question is whether the staff can develop the tremendous talent that is on this roster.

As of today this team would have a problem making it to Sweet 16.Do they have the talent to be a Final 4 team.....absolutely .All they lack to make it to FF is a half court offense against zone and sagging man defenses, motivation, leadership the right combinations being on the floor together and the chemistry to be derived therefrom.

Frankly it doesn't matter who is or who isn't a final 4 team today you still have 3/4th the season and and all the conference and NCAA tournaments to go it has nothing do do with style points, rankings, margin of win, or anything else. All that matters is where you finish if that's first the previous seeding total wins and losses don't matter just winning the National Championship Game matters. No you aren't going to get Holly fired on how much better some other team comes out of the gates. But I disagree with you on looks most of the teams you listed have not played near the same overall level of competition so it still not comparable.
