As the season gets closer

8-4.

I just don’t trust Milton. He’s had two opportunities to prove he’s the dude, and squandered both of them. He’s got all the physical tools you could dream of or make in a video game, but I just don’t trust what he’s got between the ears. My mouth is watering for crow, but I think we’re all going to miss HH very, very much. The offense doesn’t seem to flow the same with Milton. I just think he’s a practice/combine superstar who can’t put it together when the lights come on. I’m not a hater, I’m just taking the sample size I’ve seen.

The Orange Bowl was really, really good. But there were no stakes. Clemson had their backup quarterback playing, we had ours. Both had no shot at the CFP or any real accolades. Both had high-profile opt-outs. It’s a case study on the irrelevancy of modern-day bowl games. So yeah, Joe, go out there and sling it. But pressure bursts pipes, or it can make diamonds. I just think Bazooka Joe is more copper than coal. Again, please let me eat crow.

UGA is a juggernaut. Bama wants revenge, and they’ll probably get it at home. And I think we’ll split UF, USCjr, UK, and aTm. Please. Crow.
Well you will!

Ridiculous take on the Orange bowl

Klubnik was their best QB lol did you see DJ Ukelele?

There were like one or two guys out for each team with multiple draft picks playing on both sides and both teams clearly really wanted to win that one.

The narrative that it didn't matter is a very very weak one.

Also, Hendon Hooker, Josh Heupel and Erik Ainge have all said he has a very high football IQ

Are they wrong?

How can you tell he doesn't have it between the ears? What is he not seeing? He read the defense very well in the Clemson game.

He's clearly a different player now than he was at the beginning of 21 and he's said as much and explained how he understands the offense way better now.

Also, Heup NEVER has bad QB play. Its never happened going all the way back to when he was the QB coach at Oklahoma.

I am at 10-2 or better

The fact that we have competed at the level we have the last two years with the lack of talent and depth has been incredible and points to the fact that we are becoming an elite program.

We have a team that fears nothing, puts on more steam when adversity strikes and superior coaching.

We bring back a staff that's been here for three years and an even more talented and deep team across at pretty much every position.

Questions are

How much better will our defense be

Can we stay healthy

How will the line hold up

How good Joe Milton will be

I think the USCjr debacle keeps us from letting that happen again.

They won't beat us, Florida's qb is awful, mizzou ain't beating us, Kentucky never beats us and A&M will be coming off a game with Bama and we will be coming off a bye week. Big advantage there.

A&M is the only team that can slow down our offense because of their ability at the line of scrimmage

Rattler and Leary are good QB's but there's a lot more they have to overcome.

It wouldn't really shock me if we went 12-0

How could I be "shocked" if we were undefeated ranked number one last year after beating the most talented team in college football with the 19th ranked roster in the country?

Honestly last yrs schedule was much harder than this years will be. Pitt was a better non conf game and was ranked, compared to a bad VA team this year. UTSA may be our tougher OOC game this year. LSU, last year was better than A'M will be this year. We just rotate where we play Ala and Ga.This is probably our worst OOC schedule in years. We do have Mizzou and Fla on the road compared to last year,, but also get SCe and Vandy at home. It's possible that only 2 teams on our schedule are ranked when we play them, unlike last year where we played 7 that were ranked at the time we played
Eh, I respectfully disagree. I would much rather go to Pitt and LSU @ noon than Florida at night, Bama, UK and Mizzou in November.

Based on talent level per recruiting rankings at least 4 teams are more talented. Currently i think CJH and staff have developed this team to equalmor surpass the gators.

UGA, Bama and TAM are all likely still ahead of us. 9-3 wouldnt be a disappointment IMO. I do think this staff can sneak a win or two out of those three.so i wont be surprised at an 11-1 season. However, 9-3 wouldnt be a failure. Anything less, barring multiple injuries, would be IMO.

We have a chance at a really great season, but a few key injuries and we can have a bad season. We just don't have the depth of Bama or Georgia yet. We really need Beasley healthy. Would be great if Milton can play most of the season. We lose Cooper and Spraggins off the OL and we are in trouble. Anyway, barring some key injuries 9-3 or above to me is likely.

not in my book.
If your ultimate goal is winning championships, then not winning championships is technically a disappointment.

If the Vols make it to the SEC Championship Game and lose, that will be a disappointment. It will also be an accomplishment. SEC runner up is obviously a great season. Still, it isn't the goal.

10 - 2 wouldn’t surprise me, 13 - 0 would, if it was an SEC Champ game vs Bama. Doesn’t seem like Saban loses to the same team twice in a season very often. Would be very interesting to be sitting at 11 - 1 at the end of the regular season with a close loss to GA. Chaos and controversy to end the 4 team playoff seems like par for the course. Impatiently waiting for SEP 02.

After getting blown out by USCJr last season and then manhandling Clemson in the bowl game I'm not sure we're consistent enough at this point to settle on a solid prediction from yours truly. I DO think this season will set the table on what the Heupel version of the Vols will be from here on out. I'm thinking we're on the edge of something very very good, but still applying Preparation H over what the Gamecocks did to us and that ain't going away until we do something about it.

It’s hard for me to call 9-3 a disappointment given the loss of many key players and a tougher schedule. 🤷🏼‍♂️
I think last year's schedule was harder. Regardless of the results we still played @ ranked Pitt, ranked Fla, @ Death Valley, top 5 Bama, ranked KY, @ top ranked UGA, @ Jr and Clemson.
