Rickster my man, there are only a few of us that can see Kellie has a hell of a lot of talent coming our way, next season and beyond......There are so many amateurish drive by Lady Vol posters that just love to insult the program...It's as if their tongues would stick to the roof of their mouths before they would say anything positive about Kellie, or her recruits......

Kellie has already recruited talent. Were they top 5, no. They are talented players that fit her system. There are a couple of posters who relentlessly post that we need top 5. Not necessarily so. We need talented players that fit the system. If they are top 5, great. If not, I wish them the best. Why would I, as a coach, recruit players that I could not win with? I don't have faith in a pay for position ranking system. I believe the most important part of recruiting is the personal evaluation by the staff, not by a service.

I think you are talking about 2021. But, in 2020, she clearly took what she could get. It’s what anyone would do. Most agree 2021 is a big step forward but also agree we need to land a bigger fish or two to add to them starting in 2022.

Yep. Some can't believe and some refuse to believe as it doesn't fit their character. Could be battered vol syndrome. Too bad we can't share the bliss knowledge brings and lift the spirits of others.

Rating of incoming class depends on which service you like the best. ASGR 18, Prospect Nation 9, Hoopgurlz 14. As far as players only Davis is rated higher than all players in the class. Burrell was ranked 43 by one service and 116 by another service coming out of high school in Nevada. Striplin 35 and 45. Puckett 28 and 43. Wynn 62 and 62. Was once ranked in top 25 but fell when she left Tennessee to go to school in Texas. Miles is ranked in top 100 and was the top ranked player in Kentucky all last year haven't seen where she stands in the state rankings this season. Very solid class of players some excellent offensive players with high IQ play.

THIS!!!!! Rae's ranking is a good case in point. Sometimes players just fly under the radar of the recruiting services. But, hand wringing about recruiting rankings is oblivious to the new realities of college ball. Recruiting a class is one thing; keeping a class is another. The transfer portal is a game changer.

A coach could do well just by being an attractive location for players who are looking for greener pastures.

Over the years of the women's game and recruiting i have noticed one for sure thing . There are only a handful of elite type players and sometimes even just a few. Then there is the next 50 or so and it comes down to fit and development. Coach believes she has the fit and she and staff will develop. In CHRIST Alone

Lot of impatience with the rebuilding of the program and we'll just have to get used to these people. We have no idea what the final roster will be and not any of these players have played a college minute yet. There are a lot of hits and misses in the top 20 and I don't have time to list them all through the years. I keep thinking and I might be wrong that a lot of these people are thinking if she don't get us to a final four in the next couple of years then she needs to be fired. What I would say to them is you probably need to find you another team as that may not happen. Second I believe as long as she finishes in the top part of the league and gets us to the NCAA tourney she will be the coach at Tennessee. I hope she does better than that but some are probably going to be very disappointed if she doesn't and several years from now she is still coach. I personally think were going to get there in the next three seasons but I also know if we don't Harper will be here as long as she does as well as she did this season the bar has been lowered. A lot of teams vying every year for that top 20 players and I think we'll get some but so will many other teams and it will be a fight to get to the final four for many teams from now on. It will never be automatic again. There are at least ten very talented teams capable of getting there this year maybe more and only four can get there so more are going to be disappointed than successful. We may make it in the next three four years but highly doubt it will be every year like it used to be and you could go several years without reaching those heights. Parity is here and hopefully in the years to come we get our share of top finishes not ever going to be easy again.

I doubt anyone not personally invested would argue against signing the very best talent. I think it is more about making the team deeper and stronger by signing players with certain skill sets rather than the one with the headlines.

I think that's it.

Year after next is a bigger problem. I think the 2021 class is solid and a big improvement over 2020. But she has to add an elite or two in 2022. And elite point and wing would be ideal.
Maybe Kelly needs to send her husband home to do laundry and hire a proven assistant and recruiter.

I certainly agree with you that KJH will likely be here with results similar to this year. I suppose White could have a different view. But there have been so many costly decisions by our administration related to athletics. I wouldn’t expect any buyouts for WBB. The thread was just about where we are in recruiting and the outlook to get closer to where we want to be, not about firing the coach if she is unable.

I love how no one addresses that fact that there are 1st year coaches at programs who have not had to “rebuild”. UNC has a great class and they haven’t been relevant since Latta was there. I also love how the players we recruited are “high IQ” because they aren’t “highly ranked”. You can have all the IQ you want, but if you are unable to play in the SEC....it’s going to show. I agree that no one knows, but most of the good players end up being good players in college. We can be an elite eight-final four program every year again....parity is just what people like to say....the final 4 is basically the same teams every year. You know why? Because they are getting the best players.

I get so sick of hearing that if you don’t say that Kellie’s recruits are undervalued or not rated correctly, then you are negative. I disagree. I think it makes you a realist and you can see with your own eyes that the players we are recruiting, who are highly ranked, don’t want to come here. We are getting the second or third tier recruits. Even Pat wouldn’t have been able to win with players who weren’t highly talented. Yes, she would take a player here and there not rated high, but she would mix in a couple top 10 players to go with it. You can’t have a class full of “high IQ” players without a star.

Come next year, when there is no Rennia, Rae will be doubled and face guarded. Open shots will be a thing of the past for Rae. That is because there is NO ONE on this team to alleviate the loss of Rennia. The great teams replace their stars with other stars...it’s not happening here. Sorry. I don’t want to be the negative poster. I just don’t see the roster being replenished with the talent we need to win big.

What is talent that fits Kellie’s system? I noticed someone said they wouldn’t want great players, if they didn’t fit your system....so, what is Kellie’s system? Are we going for a really tall, slow team with no legitimate PG? We must have offered 4 or 5 PG’s that turned us down before we got Miles. Again, I’m not wanting to point these things out. I just think expectations shouldn’t be lowered at Tennessee. If anything, expectations should be higher.

No, I don’t. Expectations need to be higher.

Well since expectations need to be raised how do you feel about the team this year after having those seasons of not knowing if we’d make the tourney? How do you think the team has performed ?

and to relate it to recruiting do you think it will attract the talent you think belongs at TN?

Well i hope you feel better soon dont want you stroking out over a game lol
