Asking too much from our Freshmen

Pons is our most consistent player on offense. But that’s not saying much as he isn’t nearly as involved as everyone else. He needs to be involved a little more

Is it possible that our upperclassmen are unconsciously giving up their “underdog” mindset because of the highly regarded NBA true freshmen? And they realize how much gifted our freshmen are? It’s hard to be the leader when you can’t teach the student anymore.
What if we had started our freshmen early in season instead of having them “earn” it? I think the purpose wasn’t suppose to let our freshmen take control of the whole team
There might be some resentment of the younger players. Kinda looks like guys like Fulky and Pons are taking the approach that if the super frosh are so good, let's see how they do on their own? Know we're getting off into the weeds with speculation, but something is wrong/off with the chemistry and body language being displayed by this bunch. Jealousy is certainly possible.

One thing is certain. This team is bound for more losses and quick exits from tournament play. They're not together. They're not committed as a team. Hell, they don't even look like a team right now. Not sure they can find the answer in time or even if they want to. It's clear Barnes has no influence over it. It's something the players have to decide. All I know is that they're a very unlikable team to watch and my confidence going forward is gone. Looks like they're playing out the string. If I'm Barnes, I'm very careful about the upper class players I allow to return next year....if this is what's happening.

We share the ball which is good you should also look for a good shot and a open man closer to the basket. Having said that we turn down alot of good looks. Springer has a pretty shot but he sometimes gets timid in his shot, all our players need to be more comfortable in taking open looks. You can't be scared to put the ball in the hole. Also when the shot aren't falling we have to take it too the basket. Keon can pretty much beat anybody off the dribble. Fulkerson and Pons have to do a better job rebounding underneath and establish position under there. I can't pronounce his name without looking it up, but number 13 needs to be in the game more he may be our best rebounder and he can score. Anosike should be getting rebounds, where is Corey Walker, goodness gracious he should be in shape enough to play a little by now. We can't pass sloppy and make turnovers, we have to get back to playing great defense but we have to SCORE and one thing I have noticed in our losses is when we shoot nobody goes to the basket. We have to crash the boards better, when one shoots the others have to go to the glass. GBO!!!!

Our two freshmen are by far and away our 2 best players as far as being able to create their own shots. Springer obviously had his worst outing as a Vol yesterday. It happens. The problem with this team is our coach needs to earn his money and come up with a better offensive scheme . I do not understand what we Are trying to do in our 1/2 court sets other than pass the ball around for 25 seconds and then Jack up a mid range jump shot or clank a 3. No screens, not cutting to the basket, just a lot of standing around. Unless we get out in transition, we are usually inept on offense.
I think they try to play inside out, but there is no real inside to this team.

We for sure do not go inside enough, we have nobody committed down there. Fulkerson and Pons while they can hit outside we need them working together down low, that will open up more looks as well. Keon and Springer need to penetrate more and Pons and Fulk need to attack the glass more. On defense we are letting people drive on us way to easy lately. We have to get back to being a tough scappy team, we are getting beat to the punch way to much lately. We have been playing timid and weak, time to shake out of the crap and get our MOJO back. We have to regain our focus and confidence. GBO!!!!

Tennessee needs to run a four guard offense for the remainder of the season to create spacing and just let Pons or Fulkerson roam the middle.

Excuse me? Pons more muscle? Pons problem is he is not 6 10.
I'm not saying he is skinny Pete, the man has upper body muscle but he gets pushed off the x often. He doesn't play with physicality, it's not his game.
