Everyone was asking for an Assassin's Creed game based in Japan. I'm interested in where they go with it. It comes out Nov 12th and 15th on what version. Theres not a lot out for the rest of the year im interested in.

I have been off of assassins creed for a while. My main issue with ubisoft is their formula for every game they make hasn’t changed since Far Cry 3 which released 12 years ago.

But assassins creed specifically has gotten wonky on the history to a point I just can’t do it. I know most don’t have the issues with it I do, being a history guy generally ruins every historical movie or game for me anyways. But I could suspend my disbelief for a while until origins or odyssey.

My wife is a medieval historian, so Valhalla made her sperg out like 20th century war games do to me lol.

Long story short, I want to like them for what they are but ubisoft has made it very hard over the last half decade or more.

Mirage mechanics were so damn clunky compared to Unity and AC3 type mechanics. Shadows looks similar and the graphic animations look trash. And in this setting you expect the opposite

They’re also outrageously repetitive in game

I get that the larger a game gets the more likely there will be redundancy but there needs to be a balancing out, with story elements or something, to mask the repetitiveness. The Witcher 3 did a really good job with that

That's exactly how I would describe mirage. Clunky and choppy. And that combat system, awful.

Odyssey actually was enjoyable for me outside of it being a little longer than I would've liked. I did like the gameplay of that one for the most part, and it was probably my favorite of the series outside of Black Flag. I took a break from the last couple of games so I'm going into this one with an open mind because these types of games tend to be repetitive.

I will agree that Witcher 3 did an awesome job masking their repetitiveness during missions and they were usually well put together missions with interesting stories.
