How's that possible?

Or what about the Xavier gane tomorrow, if they lost would they not became at large?

Seems kind of screwy on surface but I have always hated Conference tournaments finishing on Sunday. I have always thought that puts NCAA committee in hurry mode in event of upsets on championship Sunday. I think all conference tournaments should be complete by Saturday to give them almost a whole day to work things out not just a couple hours or less like currently. I mean the tournament that decides the National Champion deserves the time to get it right form who is in/out and what seeds. Dont rush it.

the committee has been working on the selection of teams since Wednesday, when it conducted its first round of voting, according to the spokesperson.

Like I said, the conference tournament was meaningless.

I watched the interview with that guy who said that. It sounded like they had their teams but they could change it if something were to happen.

This report doesn't mean that revisions can't be made. In fact, revisions must be made due to conference tournaments. They likely made lists of alternates depending on teams that played themselves in and out during conference tournaments.

I don't really know how I take this... In the article he says if one of the a large teams win their tourney it'll free up another at large...

Sounds like he's talking about a LBS or a Xavier???

Does it help Tennessee that maybe they already ha them in possibly regardless of outcome???

It could be as fluid a situation as the last four in and first four out projections when you come down to the last spots. They would be wasting time if they hadn't done things this way.

But the NCAA spokesperson said from Indianapolis that the 37 at-large selections include teams that could end up being automatic qualifiers through their conference tournaments. That means there could be additional at-large teams to fill those slots, according to the spokesperson.

The NCAA wouldn't name the schools. But that could mean bubble teams playing Saturday were already selected into the at-large pool since they had a chance to automatically qualify out of their conference. Teams that may have fit that criteria playing Saturday were NC State (ACC), Xavier (A-10), Arizona (Pac-12) and Marshall, which lost to Memphis -- now a lock -- in the Conference USA title game early Saturday.

So only suppose here is Arizona and Marshall would be in possibly right?

both play in weak conferences. cal and of course colorado are the only pac 12 teams that will go. memphis is the only con usa team that will go. s miss will not. i'm just ramblin, but they both are weak cons.

Ok I was starting to listen to you until you said s miss won't make it...

You clearly are clueless...

I would venture to guess that the committee had this decision made-up before the UT-OleMiss game: A win, and they would put them in. A loss, and they would be left out. I don't see it happening.
