Who won't challenge them? They should have beaten VT more than what they did. They took awhile to get it going this past weekend. How is it going to be any different when they get into SEC play?

They spanked VT who was highly ranked at the time. Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss State, and LSU have been far from impressive.

... admit that the automatic BCS bid for the ACC should be revisited?

FSU was losing AT HOME to Jacksonville State with three minutes left and managed to eek out a win. (Bobby Bowden on the radio afterwards by the way kept referring to them as Troy University -- even after being corrected)

Maryland had to go to overtime to beat James Madison.

Their first week's conference performance was also pretty bad if I recall correctly.

When Miami and FSU joined, the theory was that the other teams in the ACC would rise to their level. Instead, all of the teams in that conference have slid into oblivion.

James Madison is a good team and well, Maryland is Maryland. Wonder how they'll do against MTSU-the Blue Raiders?

10 points a spanking? :eek:lol: Uh No...LSU spanked VT. Bama just gave them a slap to the wrist.

Yes, Spanked

First downs
AL 22
VT 11

Total Yards
AL 498
VT 155

Passing
AL 230
VT 91

Rushing
AL 268
VT 64

Possession
AL 30:02
VT 28.58

They wore down VT. VT was out of gas the 4th quarter and had nothing left. Go on believing that LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss State are big powerhouses. We will see who ends up in Atlanta.

I see a rematch between Florida vs Alabama and Florida winning it =/. I believe LSU sucks and 3rd-chavis won't help either. Ole Miss I believe is over rated and maybe Auburn could pull some upsets they have looked very impressive to me so far. I also see Florida winning all their games just bc of the cup cake schedule and the sec east being down this year.

Va tech's been the team to win that conference the last few years (well that and Wake in the WTF year of college football a few years back). you kinda need to give some better examples cause of that

Just because they have one team that performs reasonably well against other BCS teams does not mean that the conference, on the whole, is playing at a level that deserves an automatic BCS bid.

And, what does it say about the ACC that Va. Tech is routinely the best team they have? Not that Va. Tech is bad, by any means, but the North Carolinas, the NC States, the Wake Forests, they have all retreated to be pretty bad. And FSU and Miami are a shadow of their former selves.

Based on those stats, Bama SHOULD have spanked VT, but they did not. They let it go until the 4th quarter and then put it away. That's not impressive by any means. I never said any other team in the west was a power house, but I think Bama could very well trip and fall and not make it to the SECCG based on their average performance so far.

LSU 9-3 (5-3)
Miss. 8-4 (4-4)
Ark 7-5 (3-5)
Aub. 7-5 (3-5)
