Do catchers always switch from finger pitch calling to hand signals (i.e. crossing the chest, tapping wrists, etc..) when a runner is on second?

That's going on right now with Moyer pitching and Chipper on second. Moyer is also trying different timing with his delivery (stalling, then going with a quick motion). Moyer and Chipper were also exchanging words when he was on second.

I'm just curious if Moyer thinks Chipper is delivering signals. Or if most of this is standard. I've never noticed it before, but I don't watch for it often.

Jamie Moyer gives up back to back HRs and gets yanked after giving up 5 runs in 5+ innings..... And he gets cheered. Only in Colorado.

All teams change signs with runners on second. Some do the hand signals and some just change the finger signs.

And the different delivery times for pitchers is another way to disrupt the running game. All teams do this.

I was worried about Chipper clogging the bases batting second, but he sure can put a lot of pressure on the pitcher hitting there.

They were also doing the tomahawk chop chant earlier. I'm not sure if there are a lot of them, or if they are just loud.


And I will never like Uggla. I will be content with him at times, but for the most part, I still don't think he's a good hitter.

Gattis just went deep AGAIN Mississippi 12th ding of the year tied for second most jacks in all of pro baseball. Time to start taking this man SERIOUS

Sounded like there were a ton of Braves fans there last night. Denver's a great trip; possibly the best out of town trip in the NL. Not surprised to hear Braves fans there.

Haven't watched a pitch of this game until now, because my guests are just now leaving. I mean, staggering out in drunk one/driving one pairs. Holy crap, I make a nice margarita. Thank God I didn't have to drive. Did I miss anything other than just ordinary Coors madness?

The Rockies have been a side show. Giving it away, imo. Moyer hit a cliff, and the RP has been a disaster.
