What scenario existed where you would have rooted for them? Or are you so petty/evil that you would have rooted for the Pats over the Saints bc of divisional reasons? I know you hate the Saints but nobody is more evil than the Pats and their QB from Michigan, and I know you hate Meeeeechigan!

I am every bit that petty and evil. As are the Saints fans I know who rooted for New England last year and haven’t shut up about the Super Bowl for a whole year.

LOL, I’m glad you guys can revel in different levels of awfulness. I guess it makes sense, it’s how I’d feel talking to a Cowboys or Giants fan but my team has been so irrelevant for so long that I just view the Pats as the biggest villain for everyone.

Maybe so. I hate the Cowboys with lots of fibers of my being and maybe it’s because Washington has been so bad for so long but I just don’t feel like I hate any other pro football team like I hate Bama or Florida or UGA now for that matter

For some reason Saints-Falcons is weirdly personal. It is not a story of two teams who hate but respect each other. There's a completely unwarranted amount of mutual contempt, considering that for decades absolutely nothing was ever on the line. It's like what you'd have if you took AUB/ALA and stripped out all the college pageantry and most of the success, then made every one a lot drunker. It's hateful and I'm really not all that proud to be part of it. And yet.
