He's had issues with drug addiction.

Thanks. I remember him being suspended back when he was playing with the Braves for cocaine usage. I also read he was arrested in 2013 for the same thing. Possession of cocaine.

Man, I hope he hasn't overdosed or something like that. Please Lord let the authorities find him safe & in your arms.

LHP A.J. Minter is expected to pitch for Class A Advanced Florida tomorrow. He could make the jump to Gwinnett w/in the next couple weeks.

The Braves are putting Minter with Florida to give him a chance to pitch in warm weather.

Guys, look out for my cousin for the Braves possibly making it up to the big league team later this season. He's with the Florida Fire Frogs to start the season. 1 APP so far & a near perfect inning. He dominated all levels he was at last season posting a 0.73 ERA for the season out of the bullpen. 24.2 IP, 11 H, 2 ER, 7 BB, 26 K's.

He thought he had a chance starting out at Mississippi(AA) but he will be there soon. I say he will be up to Gwinnett by midseason. Like I said, a call up is a possibility with a struggling bullpen is definitely a good chance later this season.

I talked to him a couple of weeks before the minor league season began & he hadn't been told for sure where he was starting out at but they decided on the Fire Frogs. Pull for my cous guys.

He is a really good guy & he has all the pitches & ability to make it to the big leagues. He will be 22 years of age here in a couple weeks so I know they want to take it slowly with him. What a day it's going to be seeing a family member for the 1st time ever pitching on TV when that time comes. Thanks.

Why do you say that? Just because of what you have in bold? They want to take it slowly with him? I can see that but if he's good enough & we have a flat out sorry bullpen then I disagree with that assumption. Braves need help in the bullpen in a bad way & going outside the organization to get guys like they just signed I think is not the answer.

They have guys in AA-AAA that could help them if given a chance. Devan is still young but he being a closer doesn't have that many players ahead of him on the pecking order in the minors that's worth anything & put up numbers like he has. We'll see though.

There are a ton of arms between him and the MLB roster. Will he make it one day, who knows, will a Class A pitcher in the Braves system make it to the Braves 40 man this year........would be a huge jump.

Not tons of closer type arms there's not buddy. That's what he is although he could be used as a setup man I'm sure at the MLB level for a while.

He's at the highest A level ball though & was close to starting out at AA Mississippi so he does have a chance I believe & I'm not just saying that because I'm his cousin either. He has 3 really solid pitches with a 4th one that he uses about 15% of the time.

Throws 93-95 & can hit 96-97 at times with a nasty slider & curveball. Changeup is that 4th pitch thrown 15% of the time. I think he can make it up to the Braves this season. Maybe the September call ups but I wouldn't be surprised if it was before. That's if he continues to pitch like he has & avoids any injuries. Thanks.

Devan Watts, RHP – A 17th rounder in 2016, Watts sits 91-94 with some downhill plane and an average slider. He attacks hitters, throws strikes and is another potential ‘pen arm who lacks the raw stuff of the names ahead of him on the list

Anyways, when do Rio and Ozzie get called up and also when does Coppy start sellin? I thinking mid May

You think Teheran gets sold? I know his contract is very favorable for us, but in this SP market, I think he will fetch a rather large return for us.

I don't know why they aren't up right now. Should let them take their licks over the current starters.

I have no idea about selling though. Wonder what we would go after.

Haha. No one throws their 4th pitch 15% of the time and relievers don't even have a 4th pitch. If he was half as good as you make him out to be, he'd be a starter.

Can't

Blair and Wisler are back end AT BEST

If Teheran goes we aren't close for 5 years.

Wouldn't be happy with that. He's the only consistent pitcher we have and we have a surplus of prospects.
