I will be rooting for the Blues to beat the Sharks (if indeed it's the Sharks). I will be rooting for Tampa to beat Shlttsburgh. I will be rooting for whoever wins the West to beat whoever wins the East.

I have a personal beef with SJ from many years back. STL won the President's Trophy with a phenomenal lineup and SJ put them out in the first round.

The Sharks have looked a step faster all series. Nashville's back-and-forth travel to the west coast sure hasn't helped. When Joel Ward is skating by people you know the defenders are tired.

Maybe that's all that's wrong with Weber. But he's so good that I have trouble believing it.

The worst part about this is the Preds window. Pekka isn't going to get any better, and at best he'll be exactly the same. We have a great young core mixed with some good vets, but that window of us becoming something is closing with the age of Rinne. It seems like we are an offensive superstar and a solid defenseman on the back line away from being great, and idk that we can come up with either of those.

I don't think the situation is that dire. Rinne's a little erratic sometimes but he's good enough if he's on, and he's probably got another couple of years left. Is there a good prospect who might replace him anywhere in the organization?

You don't really need a superstar; you need four lines. In the playoffs the other team is going to clamp down on your top players anyway so you've got to be able to get some production from your bottom six.

You guys will come up with it. You're in the exact same spot as STL was a couple years ago. We went through the goalie shuffle and eventually came back to Elliott. Brought in Brouwer. Tarasenko a couple years better. Some good young talent in Fabbri and Parayko. It clicked. Nashville is on the same trajectory. They'll be fine.

As always, important to keep in mind that there's more randomness in the hockey playoffs than anybody else's except maybe MLB:

I hope the weather up in Tennessee is as fantastic as it is down here. Get your asses outside and get drinking and forget about hockey like me
