A couple of tidbits from Scotty:

-Best record in the majors with half the lineup slumping and one of our top RBI/hitters on the DL. Granted he haven't been playing what I would call "world beaters" nonetheless impressive.

-Gattis has been great behind the plate. His defense has been very good and he has made the right calls and very rarely gets shaken off despite limited experience with this staff. The staff trust him. See Medlen comments after the game.

-Could Maholm be a late bloomer? He has been lights out all spring and is one of only two SP to not give up a run on the season. The other being some guy named Clayton Kershaw. Since he joined the Braves he has pitched 81 innings and put up a 2.99 ERA.

-Kris Medlen is going to be fine, Arencibia is a troll.

-We haven't even came close to seeing this team's offensive potential yet. When it all clicks.. look out.

-I really need some #juanbombs

-Speaking of Fat Juan he has been pretty impressive at 3rd all things considered. And I like having Chris Johnson as F5F's back up. That has and will continue to be a great "throw in" on the J UP trade.

I'm pretty giddy about the start to this season but I have to keep reminding myself of that part over and over again before I go too far off the deep end.

Was thinking that during the game last night. I know it still isn't the biggest sample size but, so far, the concerns about him defensively haven't really been an issue. Going to be interesting when McCann gets back.

Nice, like the Nats and braves in the same division in that gives plenty of weekends that you know if ypu get down there you'll see some good baseball. Sucks though that whatever team comes in second has to see their season come down to a one game playoff despite being one of the better teams in the NL
