What a horrible week for our country. Initial reports think up to 70 may be dead in the Waco explosion.

God I hope not too. Imagine those familes right now. That was a massive explosion, the collateral destruction is going to be immense.

I would think so. This kind of incident is always a possibility in the factory setting, particularly one with an assortment of volatile chemicals like a fertilizer plant would have.

i was reading the thread in the pub, the explosion knocked people off their feet that were 2 miles away from it and blew windows out in homes 5 miles away. so powerful

We had a house explosion here a few years ago. Natural gas accident. The house sat on the corner of two streets, so along with demolishing that house, it destroyed two other houses as well, one across the street to the front and another to the side. Just the shockwave left those other two houses leaning like they were made of popscicle sticks.

I can only imagine how much energy this plant explosion released.

Actually just texted her, she said sirens have been going off all night. Said she's hearing it's possible over 1,000 will have to be treated for injuries.
